Christmas Upgrades! :D

Description

Some of the parts that are here were here before the upgrades. The 780 is a beast. I'm glad I could get my hands on one. I know I may get some questions on the H90 liquid cooler, so these might answer your questions: I chose this because my rear fan is 140mm. It has very similar performance to the H80i for a single rad. I could not find any place in my case to install a dual rad (280mm) to at least not look stupid. The H90 gives me everything I need to keep me CPU cool, and overclocked running stable. Plus, setup was a breeze and only took about 5 minutes. Hope they answered some questions. The GTX 780 is the EVGA FTW w/ ACX edition. I have to say it performs great in every game I threw at it. Thanks for viewing and I hope you like it! :) Also, these photos were taken with my iPhone 5S. If they aren't the best quality, I apologize.

+1 From me, but the only thing I'm wondering is why there are two different RAM modules in there. Was one of them a Christmas upgrade? And do you plan on getting a second 16GB Kit? :)

dalethezombie [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

the ram wasn't a Christmas upgrade, was more like a summer upgrade lol, i do plan on getting matching ram though :) And I probably will get a second 16 gig kit! need that extra 8 gigs for my second pc I have to build!

A point that I find constantly funny, yet a bit depressing. About three or four years ago I dropped $600 on a fairly high-end camera (a step down from a DSLR). Last year I bought a Samsung Galaxy 2S that has a higher resolution camera.

Very nice build, I'm actually going to build one pretty similar in february, also gonna use the fx-8350 with evga 780 FTW and the same mother board as well, what are the temps that your CPU gets with that h90? I was thinking about getting it instead of an h100i cas it doesn't fit well in my case.

idle about 28-29 load about 50-53

Just got this mobo as a gift from my wife. Love it.

Apach3 [2 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

nice setup you got here! i'm not sure why you went with two different lineups of RAM, but so long as the speeds and voltages are the same it should be alright. either way, +1

Cool!

Nice build, I am a AMD fan so I didn't like the GPU, but that's my opinion. Looks good ;) (A +1 from me)

too much ram!! otherwise nice

Looks like a really nice build! I read recently that you shouldn't have your pump as the high point in the loop though, maybe look into that just to be on the safe side!

Hitch_Blacklabel 1 point 9 months ago

Looks great, considering most of the same parts myself. How's it holding up?

dalethezombie [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 8 months ago

really good, nice and cool too

This is very similar to the build I am planning; Where do you think I could mount a H110 and keep all 230mm fans?

dalethezombie [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 8 months ago

i dont know actually. that was the main reason i got the h90. if you're getting this case, the h90 is the best one. but i could not fit an h100. the case didnt have the spaces for it.

Michael223 1 point 8 months ago

Okay thanks for the reply. Looking at the 9590, but if the h90 keeps a 8350 cool. It shouldn't have a problem with the 9590.

dalethezombie [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 8 months ago

go for it! the 9590 beats the i7 4770K! just make sure also, that you have a big watt psu.

Michael223 1 point 8 months ago

Another question, is there enough room to mount a second 230mm fan on the side panel?

dalethezombie [Submitter] [2 Builds] 1 point 8 months ago

yes, you can put 2 i think.

Michael223 1 point 8 months ago

Okay, thanks. Buying one 230mm is much better than me buying five more 120mm fans for the side panel
