Description

A buddy of mine wanted to upgrade his computer, so I traded him some of my old computer parts for most of his. I got the CPU, RAM, mobo, PSU, and two monitors for my 1090T, Crosshair VFZ, and a Corsair TX850 that I had laying around. So I stuck th parts in the Silverstone case that was sitting in the corner of my room for the longest time, threw in an SSD and HDD that I had laying around, and that's all she wrote.

Right now it's just serving as a guest PC, and a Homegroup Media Server until I can find a buyer. Sorry for the lack of pics. I don't plan on uploading more unless requested to.

Side Note: Am I an elitist if I own two Steelseries 6G|V2's?

P.S. Leave a comment, yeah?

Well I did have to do all the shopping around for his new parts, and then build and deliver it to him, but yeah, I got a media server out of it. :p

Not an elitist, just an 'enthusiast' ;)

Nice build man. How are those SteelSeries keyboards?

Welp, I like the Blacks for typing, but I prefer the Reds for gaming. I bottom out way to much when I type on the Reds, so they might as well be Blues with all the clicking. :p

You know I'll leave you a comment, baby! Lulz. Good deal, but since my last PC was AMD, and it sucked, it makes me not like AMD and I know that is not even fair because everything in it sucked, not just the CPU. I have to get over that already.

Very thrifty, what you have done here. You can send me any other extra keyboards you have just laying around collecting dust. ;)

What kind of AMD was it?

Also, thanks, and I would send you my second 6G|V2, but I'm giving it to my step-dad for Christmas, once I replace a few worn out keycaps. :p

The Athlon II's weren't bad in their day, but I know what you mean.

Would you use this PC for gaming and as a media center? could you please tell me about the overall performance? Thanks! and congrats for a good deal and nice PC.

Yea, it can handle some light gaming. I was playing WaW at 1650x1080 on High settings yesterday with no problems. :)

Stupid question... But the windows index score, is that from the windows program or is there a program out there that is like the one from windows? I ask because I'm looking for one for windows 8.1

Just go to Control Panel -> System and Security -> System, and it should tell you right there.

In my defense, I have zero intention of "upgrading" to Windows 8.1 because I don't see the point, so I didn't know that feature was taken out. Anyways, here you go.
