Damnit. When i saw the name i thought it was going to be an "underwater" rig. Like in a fish tank.

(Doable with mineral oil)

But i guess the fact that the url is "DUh" will have to do

Gyem submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Sorry for the misleading title xD

I'll NOT submerge my precious components in oil.

Lol i can respect that... But it's noon conductive. Jussayin

Gyem submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

It gains conductivity with time so either you are sure about the purity of your oil or one day you fry your rig.

MrsSmallCow 2 points 21 months ago

Just change the oil every 6 months like with cars

BeardCreep 1 point 21 months ago

Said doable not easy :P

Basically just mineral oil in a fish tank, look it up though there are some cool builds with it.

LemingSweaty 1 point 3 months ago

No it doesn't gain conductivity ever Luke from Linus tech tips had his under for like 5 years. They just made one too

Thanks !

I have a very similiar build planned. A 4770k, 16 gigs of ram, an 840 pro, and a 780. How fast are your boot times with the 840 pro?

Gyem submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

The 840 pro is great, around 12s.

Awesome case. How did the build go?

Gyem submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Rather well, I just had a torx screwdriver problem. The one sold by EKWB was poor quality and failed me after 3 screws... Order a nice one on amazon and it went fine.

I'm doing a similar build. Is 860 watts enough? I have 2 choices: 1. AX860i 2. AX1200i

Gyem submitter 1 Build 1 point 17 months ago

850W is enought, everything is OCed, and the supply is plenty.
