HP Pavilion HPE h9-1215t Phoenix PC that I transferred to a new case and added around $200 of upgrades to. The stock CPU, i7-3770 is actually one heck of a processor back in 2012 AND today. Not many upgrades to it(RAM, Board, CPU cooler) but it sure looks a hell of a lot better than the original.

Ended up adding a couple Corsair fans laying around and got 2 small SSDs to run Win7Pro 64bit and Win10 Beta. Mechanical HDDs were random leftover spare parts. Pics to be added soon :)

Part Reviews

Could be a bit more consistent as far as boot times go. 2nd SSD used is for Ubuntu.

Case build quality is equivalent of the Obsidian Series! Looks are impressive to me. Airflow is terrible. The massive slots at bottom of case(designed for HDD placement) leak air baaddd. Currently have Noctua fans in this thing and temps still widely fluctuate.

Operating System

Best OS out there right now.

Case Fan

Super quiet.. needs better CFM though.

Fan Controller

Will be buying these for every rig of mine in need of a fan controller. This thing is stupid simple, has quality wires, fits perfectly in 5.25 bays, and looks sweet.

I'm curious - this is less of a hardware question and more of a software one - coming from Windows 7, what are your thoughts on the current W10 build? I've come to really love 8.1, and I'm optimistic for 10. I was wondering if you thought it was still more of a middle ground between 7 and 8.1, or if you look at it differently?

I'm thinking about setting up W10 on my build as well on one of my SSDs, so I was just curious about your thoughts.

As a W10 user from 7 I warn a few things.

Some video players (Youtube mostly) have been messed up for me and I have been forced to use the Youtube App.

A lot of my games (LoL, WoW, and some of my steam games) have refused to work at all. I fixed some of them with a re-install of the games themselves but was only able to fix a few.

W10 also can crash easier when it updates itself. I have crashed about 3 times in total so far from updates but it was fine after words.

Some of my working platforms (Visual Studio, some of my Dreamweaver functions) have stopped working all together with W10 as well.

But this all could just be me needing a new PC and my installation of W10 being weird.

Well, I wasn't asking about the current build's problems, but more of how you see the potential spanning out when the official release is available. You are only using a beta, so the problems you listed will eventually be ironed out. I'm more asking about the design changes, the functionality adjustments, etc...

Hey sorry for the late reply, I have been out of town. The Asus WiFi card I havent installed yet but my co-worker has one and gets around 22 Mbps with a package of 24Mbps from ATT.. So I'd say really really impressive.
