when i found out fallout 4 was not going to be released on the Xbox 360, i had 2 options. i could either buy a newer console or build a PC. obviously i chose a PC. originally i wanted to keep the PC build under $500 to make it comparable with a new console, but i let it quickly get out of hand and it ended up being over double my original budget. all i can say is that this rig is a beast! i have not played many intensive games yet because i do not want to get wrapped up in a game with fallout 4 being released in 3 days now! the few games i have played run beautifully at ultra settings and scored a much higher benchmark than 2 of my buddies gaming pc's, although theirs are a couple years old now. the build itself was a lot of fun and i wish i had the funds to build another just to do it again haha. everything with my build went smoothly, the cable management on the spec 01 was quite challenging, but i knew that from reviews so i wasn't too surprised. the only thing that i found challenging, being my first time building a PC, was plugging all the wires into their correct locations. after everything was put together it fired up fine, and with some YouTube tutorials the OS installation and bios and drivers were pretty simple to set up. overall i am extremely happy with this build! i am using it with my TV so i did not need to purchase a monitor. thanks for checking out my first pc build! -Kyle
12/02/15 installed a liquid cpu cooler! went with the cooler master glacer 240l v2. have not tested it under load yet but it idles at 27c.
01/19/16 got a pci express cable riser and flipped the gpu up to show off the fans and the detail and beauty that msi put into it. i think it came out pretty nice! obviously i can only use this until i get a second gpu to run sli, but it looks nice for now! let me know what you guys think!
fast cpu with overclocking abilities! have not had any issues with it yet.
good quality aio, but i can not change the pump speed and it constantly runs at 3500rpm and is very loud... it was also a pain to install, but besides all that, it looks great and my cpu idles at 27c.
edit changed from 3 to 4 stars because i realized that the pump plug had to be in the cpu header to control the rpm. that was my error and now it runs as quiet as any of my fans do! still only 4 stars because of the challenging install.
great quality mobo, looks very nice, the only reason it loses a star is because there is no digital audio output. i did not think to check the specs for that when purchasing so i guess it's my fault, but it's a con in my book.
low profile, sleek looking, does what it's supposed to. no complaints.
my first ssd. only use it for the os and cache. my pc boots up in under 10 seconds!
good solid hdd. does what it's supposed to. no complaints.
amazing gpu! plays any game i throw at it in 1080p with max settings and never drops below 50fps
nice looking case, and its good for the money, but if you can afford a little larger one i would recommend doing so because it is very tight inside and there is almost no room for cable management.
great psu, nice sleeved cables, does what it's supposed to. never had any problems.
does what it's supposed to. no complaints yet.
it's like a better version of 7. i hated windows 8, glad they did away with that style of os. loving windows 10 so far.
good quality quiet fan. does what it's supposed to, no complaints.
got this fan to go with the led fan that comes in the front of the corsair spec-01 case. the case only comes with one led fan and i wanted 2 to make it look nicer. basic fan, does what it's supposed to do, looks nice!
for the price, you can't go wrong. the keyboard looks great and the quality feels ok. the mouse looks and feels great.
