Description

Hi All

This rig is used for gaming, and video editing mostly.

Rebuilt after about 6 months (first water loop) because I wasn't happy with some of the PETG bends, or some of the run choices I'd made.

What I like and don't like about my build.... I'd like to hear what you like or don't too!

Like

  • Almost completely silent even under load and always nice and cool.

  • GPU no load 21c, load 45c

  • CPU no load 27c, load 60c

  • Fan effects with Corsair LL120 RGB Fans Lighting Node Pro

  • Very fast RAM - Got it due to a price error. Was cheaper than 3200MHz at the time

  • GPU is terrific. Capped FPS at 97 due to to 100MHz 34" 3440x1440 X34 monitor. No reason to increase. RT Ray Tracing not on my agenda for the moment. Everything Ultra settings. Love it.

Don't Like

  • Some tube bends are rough. Some were much better on the original build and made it worse this time. I lost patience! Enjoyed doing the bends the first time. Now the novelty has worn off and I don't like hate bending PETG. It's not relaxing. It's not fun. I need psychological help now :)

  • Normally upgrade every 18 months to 2 years. Thoughts of doing another loop to replace this one give me nightmares. May sell this as-is when the time comes.

Tell me what you think of my rig and the components? I'd like to hear from those who've done both PETG bending and then gone to angled fittings instead. Is it worth the cost or not?

Any other thoughts and comments, let me know!

Will get more pics up tonight. Allowed to post video links to YT?

Yes, you can post links as long as it is SFW, and related to the PC.

Beautiful pc, what coolant did you use? +1

Thanks! It's the EKWB solid colour. Prefer it to the clear stuff. Looks more like blood

Love the bends they look super smooth. I did my bends with vicryl primarily for the clarity, I incorporated both bends and rotary fittings in my build. The fittings were primarily cause bends were impossible in such tight space. I personally would go with bends if possible to reduce the leak potential with a joint. Also It looks more like art, and shows the talent when you bend vs. joints.

Makes sense. You're being too kind. The bends on the GPU aren't too bad, but some of the others look crap.

I like the beefy cable combs

Thanks. Got them from cablemod with the cables. Far too expensive for what they are though. I missed a 40% off code a week later

Aw. They look great tho. I cheaped out and got Phanteks cable extensions for my build, and if you check it out, the cables just don’t look as nice as cablemod.

They look good! You're being too hard on yourself! Plus, easy thing to replace when the time comes!

Thanks, maybe when a new build comes along and I have a little bit of extra cash, I’ll spring for the cablemod!

I think it looks pretty dope! (Do people still say that?) The cables and the coolant look nice. I would suggest you make the fans match or leave them a classy white.

From what I can see it looks like you didn't apply enough heat to the bend or didn't heat enough of the PETG to stop it from wrinkling while bending.

Add some pics from further back showing the whole case overall please and maybe your back panel if the cable management is neat! [EDIT] Just noticed the videos, d'oh!

You're 100% correct on the reason for the bends. Not enough heat, or too much and not enough patience! Like I said in the OP. I'm not going through it again. I'll kill someone first! ;) Wasted a lot, and yelled at the heat-gun, PET, wife, etc... :D

Make the fans match? You mean in static colour? I play with them all the time. Daily it changes. Just happen to be that colour on the day the pics were taken.
