Description

This was my first build in over 15 years. I built computers for myself and my high school back in the day but tech really has changed. I found myself back in the market for a computer and decided to give it a go. I had a blast making this build and the great thing is that my son got excited watching me make mine so now he is buying pieces so he can make one himself.

Really the hardest part was getting all the smaller wires plugged in. I was worried about bending pins over.

As far as use I plan on doing some photo editing and light gaming. Its also going to be used for college. Yup, in my thirties and going back. I want the kids to know its never to late to try and better yourself.

Edit: I do know that I don't have a GPU. I have the 1050ti coming and should be here in the next few days. Just couldn't wait to get the build up.

I feel your pain with those tiny front IO cables. I wish more case manufacturers bundled them as a single connector instead of a few tiny ones.

Right? Plugging a single cable with one connection point was a little troublesome. Managed to not break anything though.

Hey man, love the build. I'm actually looking to do a very similar build, but I'm currently thinking of the GA X370 Gaming 5 instead of B350-F Strix basically just cause I'm concerned the silver-grey heat sinks messing with the whole black white colour scheme. What you think? Do the Strix heat sinks particularity stand out in the build (specifically when the RGBs are going)?

The heat sinks don’t stand out nearly as much once the lights are on. They do stand out quite a bit though.

I see no GPU in these pictures. but I'll be damned if that is not some of the best camera work I have seen on this site in my time. I really love how clean this build really is.

I have a 1050ti on its way right now. Holding out for awhile till prices come down and then upgrading. I have been a photographer for a long time. Plus I was really excited about getting photos of my new build.

(which camera did you use?)

I will update as soon as I get it. Should be the 10th of feb that it’s going in. Crossing fingers everything goes well. All the photos were shot with a Nikon D700 Nikon 50mm 1.8 Sigma Macro 105mm

I use to have a photography business. I use to have a photography business I just used the same ideas. I actually have a lot more photos but didn’t want to post them all because I thought people wouldn’t like them.

That's so sweet of you! You could shoot a thousand photos and I would still see them all! do it :D

Also I'm planning to make a new itx build very soon, so let's keep in touch and I'll show you. (actually I have everything ready except the cpu+mobo, I'm waiting the 14th)

If I may offer a cosmetic recommendation, buy some cable combs. They'll really give it that perfect ocd appealing look and feel. They have some on ebay cheap and cable mod too I think. Great looking build though.

Just got back home and went through bios and DOCP and got my memory up to 2800mhz 1.350 volts. That’s better then the 2155 and I’m happy. I tried to go to 2933 but it would not post. I want it to stay stable so I’m leaving it at 2800

Why would you get a 1050 when you have $1500?

Because my son was going to get it soon and I was going to upgrade.

Nice build! Just one problem... You should balance the parts a bit, a ryzen 7 1700 with a 1050ti? Its like putting caviar on a trash can.

I’m not willing to spend 3x as much as a card is worth in the current market. I’m waiting for things to settle and then replacing it for sure though.
