Description

Probably the cheapest possible pc you could get with a 1050ti So there is a massive argument on the internet as to whether a 1050ti works inside a pc like this, sporting a 240w 80+ gold psu. Some people say the power supply can't give enough juice to all the components. Well i tried it. And it worked

The pc is refurbished ( I didn't want to have the risk of buying second hand from private seller. Plus I got some warranty on the pc. So that's good)

Now I bought this in Australia for $210 AUD which is roughly $168 USD at the time of making this build. I also bought a low profile msi gtx 1050ti which was around the same price. You can definitely get the pc cheaper if your willing to buy second hand.

This Hp small form factor 8200 uses: I5 2400 4x2 gb ddr3 1333mhz ram 500gb seagate HDD

The pc came with a windows 7 sticker so I was able to use the key to upgrade to windows 10 pro for free.

So now I can garuntee everyone that this configuration works. And the power supply does not limit/restrict performance at all.

The i5 2400 very rarely bottlenecks the 1050ti and allows this card to perform to its full potential. In unigine superposition benchmark on 1080p medium settings I averaged 46 fps

Temps were also very good 28 Celsius at idle and 68 on full load I do suggest if you want to replicate this build you buy the msi variant of the low profile gpu because the gigabyte variant only has 1 fan.

LOL. Minus the 1050ti, this is the exact PC my workplace uses for their offices. Posting from one right now.

Haha. Same here. It's amazing what you can do with what looks like cheap useless hardware

Does it sound like a lawnmower?

Actually. It's very quiet. As mentioned temps never go beyond 68 degrees Celsius. So the fans are never spinning faster than they normally would

Very nice. I did something very similar this past winter. I got an old Dell T5500 that was going to be recycled at my office. Its an old cad workstation with a Xeon X5550. I slapped a RX480 in there and can run most games at medium to high settings. Although the RX480 has a little more power than the 1050ti, I bet you will see similar performance. She aint gonna win any beauty contest, but she should get the job done. Nice budget build.

I've bought similar prebuilts like that one for $80-$100 with 450W psu with no rating but that is to be expected. Anyway proud that you've join the small fleet of the 1050 ti pre-build computers. I still have mine but she be under my bed since my Dingo does all the work for me so I had to retire her. :)

Cheap as in only two new parts?

Yes. Basically. Just two things you need to buy and you have yourself a great budget gaming pc. The price of the pc you buy will vary depending if you buy second hand, refurbished etc

So has the performance of the machine or your opinion of the build changed at all? Got this exact build going on currently, just waiting for GPU prices to drop before I pull the trigger on this card.

Thanks!

The psu is proprietary. You can’t upgrade it. Honestly. I’m not interested in ryzen and by the time I require an upgrade I’m sure a newer generation would be released (also, I might get hate for this, but I will never be switching over to team red ) intel and nvidia all the way :)
