There are mostly black boards on the 1150 socket like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128722&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= and a 4790k is actually better for gaming than the 5820k, but never the less, this is an awesome build and it looks very good! Props for using a proper quality PSU.

I have used that cooler before as well and the reason it sits so close to the GPU on your build is because the CPU socket on most X99 boards is further down the board than on Z97 boards by like 1/2 an inch. Here it is on a Z97 boards: http://img.hexus.net/v2/cooling/bequiet/DarkRockPro3/drp3-8b.jpg

Nice blackout build = easy +1.

I'd like to add some cablemod cables and LEDs in the future

Yes! Sleeved cables will make this PC really shine. Also, get some new chassis fans! The grey is an eye sore, not to mention those things are just crap.

TechyinAZ 14 Builds 2 points 43 months ago

Agreed, I have the 450D with stock fans and I want to replace them fast. :)

Nezonic submitter 1 Build 2 points 43 months ago

Absolutely, I'm thinking more Silent Wings 2 to match the CPU cooler and just remove the orange be quiet! stickers? Thanks for looking

syntaxerrur 22 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

Those would look so nice. Please do.

The cables for the front case connections are too short to run through the grommet with the HD audio and PSU cables!? The horror, but nice setup. I'm inspired by it; going to ride my Wilier this afternoon.

Nezonic submitter 1 Build 2 points 43 months ago

I know right? Have a nice ride :)

I think you got the theme correct, it's all BLACK +1

VersatileTech 1 point 43 months ago

Hey, nice build. X99 Platform is great and very powerful. I have a question about the MSI board your using, is it working great and recommendable? Cause i'm deciding whether or not to get it this weekend for my x99 build.

Nezonic submitter 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

Hi, thought I replied to this earlier but I guess not. MOBO is fine so far! Easy install and connections. It's been really well reviewed, if you like the aesthetic and want to go X99 it's a great choice. Thanks for looking!

VersatileTech 1 point 43 months ago

Okay thank you, i'm going to get this board for sure now.

Devouringbowl57 1 point 43 months ago

Awesome build, but you really need a mouse pad.

Nezonic submitter 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

If you look closely in the ****** setup picture, you'll see it! It covers the width of the desk, so it blends in. Don't worry, I 'm not a dirty heathen.

Devouringbowl57 1 point 43 months ago

Oops sorry I thought it was the table, that is one kickass build.

brodosaur 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

What about the X99 Sabertooth?

Jrock413 1 point 43 months ago

Sweet build! I've got about the same in mind just not x99. But i have one question for you, would it be possible to add another Windforce 980ti in that case without modding the hard drive bay?

Nezonic submitter 1 Build 2 points 43 months ago

I think with the cabling it would be pretty tight... the bay is definitely easy to remove though haha.

noap7 1 point 43 months ago

How well does that keyboard perform?

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

Perfect!

ALDJ0922 1 Build 1 point 42 months ago

Have you thought about making a PSU cover? I did for my 450D. Then again, my PSU is also only semi-modular, so it is not as clean as yours

NitroOG 1 point 28 months ago

Does the Be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 touch the plastic on the case?
