Description

First PC Build! After realizing that most if not all of my friends play pc, I had to get one myself. I previously played on the Xbox 360, and though it was fun, I knew I was missing out on the PC master race! Also, my pc was a 2009 HP desktop, and the upgrade would be both justified and significant. Having limited previous knowledge on computers, I researched for weeks trying to compile a decent parts list for playing games like Titanfall, Battlefield, League of Legends, Watch Dogs, etc etc. Mid June, I saw a bunch of these parts go on sale and immediately placed the orders. Besides being paranoid about static frying my parts, the build went really smooth and no problems came about.

The color scheme of this build is black and gold, but I couldn't find any other gold parts. If you have any suggestions please comment!

Comments:

Everything came together smoothly, wiring is a bit of a mess though.

SILENT. I was shocked when I turned on the pc for the first time because I heard no noise, thinking it failed.

The Corsair 500r case is outstanding. There is tons of room for airflow, removable drive bays, plenty of fan mounts (10), dust filters in the front and bottom, and small things such as the side panel thumb screws that can't be lost! However, the case fans are definitely weak, but are easily replaced. This case made my first build so simple it's ridiculous. Maybe it's because this is my first case, so I can't really compare it to anything else.

I would say welcome to the master race, but that would be too cliche.

I probably sound really dumb saying this right now but, where's the CD Drive?

Correct! WD 1TB Green (ridiculously slow)

I haven't had horrible speed issues with them, but I've had massive failure rates at 4-8 months. For a slightly higher price and power consumption you can get a blue, which has been very reliable in my experiences.

Well 2 reasons: it's from 09 and I've been spoiled with the ssd. It has held up for a while, I'll give it that.

How do you feel about that case? I have the same one for my main rig and the longer I have it the less I can stand it.

I honestly really like it, although it's a bit big. What can't you stand about it?
