Description

3rd render node for my 3D workstation (30 cores). Most of the aesthetic stuff was improvised and from scavaging around hardware stores and used car part shops.

I was in need of reduced render times and didn't want to be boring and have a box under my desk, so I did something more elaborate and had fun with it.

Thanks man!

floridaboz 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

and it is featured now.

krapphlat 1 Build 8 points 21 months ago

This is functional art, nothing less. This should be hanging in a gallery not an apartment (as tastefully decorated as it is), more people need to see how beautiful this is outside of the PC enthusiast world.

Inspiring very inspiring.

Terelius 2 points 21 months ago

I agree

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks!

JuiceKingsRevenge 5 points 21 months ago

This is gonna get featured. But Right now the completed builds list is doing that thing again where recent builds aren't showing up.

CitizenoftheStars 2 points 21 months ago

I bloody hope it does. If this doesn't, I don't know what will...

Wolfemane 7 Builds 3 points 21 months ago

Slick build. nice custom work.

Drum set in an apartment/condo. Your neighbors must hate you to the core :)

+1

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks man, the drum set is electronic so it doesn't bother people that much. I wouldn't even enjoy playing if I knew I was pissing people off haha

Wolfemane 7 Builds 4 points 21 months ago

I lived next to a drummer in my early days. I played a lot of guitar then. When ever he would start jamming I'd just plug in and start jamming along. hehe Noise complaints followed in truck loads! hehehe

anyways, seriously nice build. Good to see the creative side of individuals on this site!

MightyAlFred 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I remember your previous build (I think it was the first slave render node, the one with dual cpus, but I might be wrong), and I was already amazed by that. But this is totally over the top. Superb work with all these details, congratz.

Hector1908 9 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Why did you not wait for the new i7 and i9 intel chips?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Because I'm gonna build a new one probably this year or early next year with the new i9 chips

oneflygtiguy 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Super creative work. Very well done. I am looking at your sleeved SATA cables and would really like some. Where these home made? That room would be sensory overload. Too many awesome choices.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks man, I got them from Cablemod :-)

Really like that robotic thing on top. Did you make that or use something you modified? Looks dope. Great job.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks man, I went around to used car part shops and hardware stores. The yellow shell is made of fiber glass and stuff. Check out the build log link in the description. I documented all 2 months of the process!

OllieManMan 14 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Great blog. I need to do that for my next build. Great work with the fabrication.

LeMMingSlayeR 22 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I really liked "Megatron" when I saw it.

I loved "Optimus".

I am completely in awe of "Bumblebee".

If there is ever a "Trypticon" or "Omega Supreme" I will probably need a screen wipe or two.

Simply amazing build, I absolutely love the Transformers themes (been a fan since childhood).

+1

KYBL 1 point 21 months ago

Mother of god....This is probably the best build I have ever seen on this website. Great job my friend!

Sentinel3.14 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Such an amazing build dude! +1 Great job. I suspect you will be the first to beat me since I posted. : )

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Z3DM4N 6 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Aesthetic.

customgtp 23 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

This is the best build on this site yet hands down. Amazingly creative and innovative!!! A+ and +100

PChamp 1 point 21 months ago

Amazing build. I have the same cooler master case (white colored) and I love it! However, the poly-carbonate screen has discolored somewhat during past 3 years.

Are the other two towers part of the same workstation or 3 separate machines?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Three separate machines, although they all work together over the network to render out 3d images. Saves A LOT of time

PChamp 1 point 21 months ago

That's a neat set-up you have, good luck!

DarthxxNecrosis 1 point 21 months ago

This is the definition of an epic build! Great work on the custom transformers build!!! With the size of the room that I can see from the pictures I have to wonder what you're looking at for room temp and noise level?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

I'm in Brazil so it's usually hot AF, but I recently installed air conditioning so we're all good hehe

roldanimal 1 point 21 months ago

The build is aight, but that drum kit is sick.

jkjk they're both pretty sick!

Jmurphsx 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I want all of this... From the PC's, to the kit ... all of it. My jealousy is SO real right now.

LIVE_AMMO 1 point 21 months ago

Marksman, this is why I have falled in love with PCPP. Just when you think you've seen it all, this happens! Truly amazing work and very inspiring!

Now I have to ask, how big is that TV? Looks like you bought a cinema screen in your house

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

It's actually a projector, screen canvas is about 125 inches. Benq 1070. 700 bucks and so worth it!

PAPA_KIWI 1 point 21 months ago

I Love your Set up and love the tubing

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! I bought the braided sleeve on ebay for like 10 bucks! haha

bee7695 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Am I seeing a watercooled PSU? How may I ask?

Did you stick a radiator inside?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Nope the PSU isn't watercooled hehe

Yes there is a radiator under the yellow grill

Zeldaplayz 1 point 21 months ago

My guy what do you do for a living

Derpy_Terminator 1 point 21 months ago

My favorite transform wad bumblebee and reminds me of him, this reignites it. +1

Some0ne 1 point 21 months ago

Luxandria 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Nice build!

frankp2491 1 point 21 months ago

This setup is so sick. I am so impressed with the projector screen

N0_N4M3 1 point 21 months ago

WOOOOOW dude this looks so good 10/10 <3

+1

RoyalSovereign 1 point 21 months ago

Great build... but why you have 3 pcs ?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

3d rendering, cuts the time down by like 6 times!

RoyalSovereign 1 point 21 months ago

Yea, i figured that. 3 pc's are still... weird. :)

gunit1111 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I can hear Mark Wahlberg going "I think that's a Transformer!"

Nice build!

Jackdadog888 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Noice build! Definitely a +1! I like the color scheme and the whole build! The only thing I don't dig is the mobo and the pcie extension. I guess you can mod those too to make it more..? Not saying it is bad, this is amazing and mind blowing. Another thing, why do you use windows 7?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! I use Windows 7 because of compatibility with the programs I use. I don't really have a need to upgrade to 10 yet

floridaboz 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

As someone who grew up watching the original transformers and still even has a few VHSs (but no VCR). I have no words for just how great this build is, and how it really goes after my hearth. So i am just going to leave my +1 and leave because the jealousy might get overwhelming.

Great job

AlexM3789 1 point 21 months ago

Damn.... This is awesome man!

Mason54 25 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

core P5 Watercool master race! I love seeing other people then myself use this case, especially the Watercooling aspect of it! And how many hours of case modding did it take to move the PSU there, and the GPU down?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

This took me about 2 months to build the whole thing, about 1-2 hours a day. Had a general direction in the beginning but it it was mostly improvised.

Mason54 25 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

very nice, very nice

Killua89 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

this is some next level **** bruh !!! damn !!!!!!!!!

Anyansayo 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Wow! This looks awesome. Why did you use the older CPU? And widows 7? What kind of programs are you going to run on it?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Hey thank! This PC was really just built with the intent of being a render node for 3d rendering. For those purposes it works great :-)

SlickShoes17 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

That is some serious dedication to an art. Could you also do a build guide for those biceps?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! yea the build guide is just go to the gym haha

Camaxide 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks for sharing this gem :D This is what Love is right there, love for custom PC :) I love the Bumblebee, and also the full setup with the tripple monitor for work, and larger TV for entertainment :)

what TV is it? what's the input lag? - I have a somewhat similar setup, so I'm curious :) I love playing on the TV, but for competitive FPS gameplay I still prefer my 144hz 4ms gaming monitors.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks! It's actually a Benq1070 projector. I forget sometimes that it's not a TV haha. I love gaming and watching movies on it but I've never been so crazy about the technical hz and stuff. For competative gaming it may not be the best thing haha. Check out the specs online and let me know!

Camaxide 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

It seem to have up to 120hz - not sure if it does so in HD, but it can do 120Hz. It also has an imput lag of avg 20 - which is acceptable for livingroom gaming (on par with Samsung TV's which are known for low input lag) yet it still is a bit behind gaming monitors which is preferred 2-4ms - but this is common, and for singleplayer, coop, casual multiplayer etc. it's perfectly fine :) My gaming monitors are also BenQ :)

Laceyn56 1 point 21 months ago

OMG DUDE! I love this build! I just got into making my own pc, maybe one day i will create something as cool as your build! Love it dude,Great job!!!!

marksman submitter 4 Builds 3 points 21 months ago

Thanks man! Don't ever get discouraged when seeing stuff online. It all just takes time, patience, and being able to search google efficiently to figure out why things go wrong. This was my first REAL custom PC. Kinda just started and didn't know what I was getting myself into really. Just do it man!

Pure24 1 point 21 months ago

Awseome Custom Build!

Arminecraft 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Why do you need three computers? I'm crying.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

3d rendering, they work together over the network to render out images. Saves a lot of time

Arminecraft 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

dayumm, that's efficiency right there then :P Really cool setup in my opinion :3

maitland02 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

PC building is an art form and this is one of the most creative things I have ever seen. Great job! +1

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

thanks!

manirellis_fridge 1 point 21 months ago

+1 for the drum kit, when will the Neil Peart kit be shown?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I actually used to have a massive kit like that back when I lived in a house :-)

Taetew 1 point 21 months ago

wow that is beautiful. Awesome work!

tussiez 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

i think real bumblebees (if they saw it) would start making their beehives so high-tech. Thats one overkill build

tussiez 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Engine Starter. Did you stick JFP1 with a power shorter there?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Not sure was JFP1 is but I bought a car engine momentary switch on ebay :-)

tussiez 1 Build 1 point 19 months ago

...Worked for me. It's for MSI motherboards. mostly

customgtp 23 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I don't subscribe to any pc magazines but there out there and this NEEDS a cover and a feature in whatever popular magazine. (besides this site ;))

aprofile 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Cool. Love the custom work/modding. Where did you get those grommets?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Hey there, thanks! I have a link to the build log that documents like every single step with pictures (in description). The grommets, I bought a roll of rubber and cut them out myself. Like everything except the hardware and pc parts was made from scratch

aprofile 3 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Awesome! Thanks

nakaman 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Are you a fan of the g1 transformers?

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

To be honest I don't even know what that is. I wasn't really a fan of transformers growing up either. I was just fascinated by the 3d work in the movies

nakaman 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I cry for every lost soul who has not seen g1 or the original 1986 movie.

Chip1337 1 point 21 months ago

Spectacular build. Truly exquisite craftsmanship. Awesome Build. Great Job.

goodgames8376 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

All of those pictures were rendered with special 3d software that is so realistic everyone is fooled into thinking that this beautiful computer from the future exists. This comment is fake. The matrix is real.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Ive seen you everywhere man. First in CEMR on FB then on RandomFrankP, and now here. awesome work man!

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

haha, what is CEMR? Where is that?

Dreamsandlies 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Computer Enthusiast Master Race, its on Facebook. Your build was posted on there a while back and everyone was trippin' haha. I love it. That tire added so much to me. Just love the creativity and envy the room as a whole. My best friend and I moved in and have been working on our game room and its looking killer but not comparing to your room haha.

bigg_critter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

well these builds just get more amazing by the day! This is great, and now i have a new level of man cave envy to deal with as well! +juan

Manifestoplus 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

I personally find the build humongous. The mobo looks so small in there! However, amazing crafting and patience. Bravo ;)

The room it self is impressive. Those monitors (22'' ?) look so small compare to that ~65'' TV. Wow !!! Start a movie or a big screen game, just turn 45° and go! Lovely :)

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

27 inch monitors, and 125 screen haha

Manifestoplus 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

27'', that's much better. 125'' !!! Wow now that's impressive and probably very expensive!

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Relatively not expensive at all! Benq1070 projector. 700 bucks... bought it about 2 years ago and have thousands of hours of netflix and games on it. Very worth it!

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Not really man. I work on average 15 hours a day. Don't party or go out really. Don't have a car... etc. I invest most of my money back into my profession. This was build over 2 months, an hour or 2 a day. You probably have more money in the bank than I do right now haha

_Pie_The_Cat_ 1 point 21 months ago

jesus christ on a breadstick this is super nice and aesthetic you actually built it the madman, you must be insane basically i'm pretty damn jealous of you now

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Yes, I am a little insane. Just try to point it in decent directions haha

sokrey 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Stone_Kold22 1 point 21 months ago

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

3d rendering, they all work together over the network to render 3d stuff

ArchiIsHere 1 point 21 months ago

jamesbeawesome 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Barry Benson would be proud.

Design1stcode2nd 5 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

This is much more akin to sculpture, very well done! There are a lot of nice builds or expensive builds or even custom case builds on PCPP but this is the best I've seen in a long while; including most of the shows like Computex.

This is restrained with a great attention to detail, That's a hell of a production/gaming room.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks a lot! :-)

Nater650 1 point 21 months ago

Any reason why you went with a computer based on the X99 chipset rather than X299

Actually though, awesome build! Wish I had the dedication to do something like this.

marksman submitter 4 Builds 1 point 19 months ago
