Playstation 3 got Yellow Light of Death out of nowhere, and I thought... If I buy a PS4, I won't have any games. I already had a few games in my Steam account and additionally in a few years I'll be able to play my favorite PS3 games on PC anyways, Down with peasantry it is, I'm going back to PC.
Objective: Build progressively, start with something better than a PS4, and build on top. I live in a Small apartment uptown, so I needed a compact setup but versatile enough to store all my Plex media, PC games, Emulators & Roms.
I started with the 500 GB SSD for OS and open world games or online shooters and a 3TB HDD for Plex, ROMs, and games that didn't benefit that much from faster load times. Originally I played with my Steam controller on my TV with Steam Big Picture until I bought my monitor, desk, and the fantastic Vortex RGB fully programmable mechanical 60% keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches. I already had the mouse. But hot damn, I can't believe how awesome is G-Sync (Freesync must be awesome too), it's freaking fantastic, I mean having around +120 FPS is freaking cool, but the smoothness from G-Sync is worth more to me, at 120 is a dream come true but even at 60 FPS is a game changer.
I got the mousepad on Amazon for $12 it's listed as Vipamz Extended XXXL Non-slip Rubber Base Textured Weave Gaming Mouse Pad, Black - 36x12-Inch
The desk is custom, made to order, 90cm x 60cm but the depth is eaten a bit by the monitor's base, so I might go with a floating VESA arm to maximize usable desk area, since I don't want a bigger desk, I love it as it is.
Anyways, I am loving my setup,
