Description
Gaming PC. Silent when idle and decent under load.
Changes since https://pcpartpicker.com/b/QTQV3C include: upgraded to a GTX 1080, changed PSU to the Corsair SF600, reoriented fans to push air out instead of pull air in, and improved cable organization a bit.
The GTX 1080 is overclocked using MSI Afterburner (see link below). The Corsair SF600 is noticeably quieter than the Silverstone SX600-G was, but the cables are thicker and longer and harder to maneuver, so I'm hoping to eventually replace them with individually sleeved and shorter cables.
Also, previously the fans pulled air in which allowed me to use the NCASE M1 air filter and have a positive case pressure. However, the exhaust under load was significantly heating up everything else. In particular, the PSU fan would spin up to max duty. Changing the fans orientation reduced temperatures and noise across the board (at the eventual cost of more dust buildup).
