This PC is a sub-$400 build I built for my grandfather (pappou). This is the first PC I've ever built! He gave me $400 to work with. Since he's Greek, I made the build's theme blue. He decided he wants a new computer that's faster, and built by me, his grandson.
Pappou uses his current PC for simple internet browsing, and Skype video calls. I'm also making it game-capable for when I visit.
I have a GTX 750 in his current PC, so I don't have to include a GPU to this build's budget. I will install it when I see him again. I found an R7 360 for $40, so I put that into the system instead. Now I can take my old PC back home, and use it as an temporary HTPC.
I ran into a silly problem after the build was complete. I accidentally poked the CPU cooler, and a fan blade broke off. The whole system started vibrating really loud! I quickly shut off the PC, and went to bed, since it was almost midnight. When I woke up, I decided to break off the opposite fan blades to balance out the fan. The vibration is gone, and the CPU's temps are still good!
For just $40, the G3930 is a great value. If you're not playing intensive games, this CPU should work just fine for you. I would've gone for the Pentium G4560, but the price is $30 above MSRP.
Although this isn't a well-known cooler, it looks and performs really well. The blue LED ring around the fan looks great, and it's fairly quiet.
I'm taking a star off for the included thermal paste. Instead of coming in a little syringe, it came in a small packet, which made it a bit tougher to apply. Also, I can't seal it up again, since I had to cut it open.
Fantastic looking RAM, at a great price! The pulsing lights look great too.
This is one of the best cases in this price range. You get a side window, two pre-installed fans, pre-installed standoffs, and four USB ports on the front panel.
If you're building in this, make sure to get a semi/fully modular PSU, cable management could be tricky.
Amazing quality for an amazing price! Comes with flat black cables, without any other color.
Does it's job right out of the box, no drivers needed. It also comes with a smaller bracket for slimmer cases.
