A project that was visioned in 2013 but started in late 2016.
This is my Skylake PC Build that I built after a careful planning in terms of parts matching. Some compromises are made to make it fit the way I imagined it to be. The TARGET here was to end up with a good machine that could run any games/ programs I want in 1080p full settings while looking good, and I believe it truly does the job.
YES I CAN DEFINITELY HAVE A BETTER SPECS WITH THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I SPENT ON THIS
YES I CAN DEFINITELY HAVE A SIMILAR SETUP FAR CHEAPER THAN THIS
but that defeats one of the purposes of this build, to have it looked the way I wanted it to be.
Now I'm running on 4.6GHz with 1.35v core voltage, It runs very stable. Will push it further when I have time to redo all benchmarking process.
- The LED switch on the back of the case controls both the under glow and the Razer logo, You can only have them both on or off at the same time. I want the logo to be lit all the time, but not the under glow as it will be distracting when gaming in the dark, so i went and disassembled the led control board under the case and have it powered on a separate channel. Now the front logo turns on all the time when the PC is on, and I can control the under glow via switch :) Just a simple case mod for those who owns the same case.
- Wanted to go with the Thermaltake Riing RGB fans but it was way over my budget, so I got an Aigo A3 RGB fans kit with a wifi app controller included. Will post photos when I have the time.
Funny how the original plan in 2013 was to get an i5 4690K but I ended up with this. Excellent piece of K series processor that could be pushed hard, if you have the balls to do it. Will not upgrade to Kaby Lake, that's just ridiculous. I'm good with 4.6GHz :)
p/s: didn't win the silicone lottery :(
AIOs? And you kissed your mother with that mouth? I surely don't need an AIO for this build and what I am throwing at it ;) Look at the temps even on full load, and I live in a country where ambient is 27 degrees celcius. This cooler is a BEAST in terms of performance and looks. On paper, this will not fit in the NZXT S340 according to PCPartPicker but it does actually fit with a roughly 5mm clearance.
p/s: If you give me a free AIO, I'll take it tho
Perfect for a black themed build, plenty of features though I hated its ugly carbon fiber sticker. Just make it all black will ya? DITCH THE SILVER ACCENT! The steel brackets really helps when you have a beefy GTX1070 XTREME GAMING ;) No sag
The best performing GTX1070! It barely fits my case as the cable routing bar of NZXT S340 was in the way. But I managed to get it in, with a 1mm clearance.
edit: It's full RGB, my bad. 5 star rating now :D
RAZER! Nuff said
