Description

Quite the update from my previous build. Decided to throw in a new processor, motherboard, and the h100i v2 liquid cooler as well. So far things have been running absolutely phenomenally. The Kaby Lake i7-7700k + GTX 1080 SC + Acer Predator XB271hu 27" ips w/ G-Sync has been amazing. Other PC will be used as a secondary for friends/family to game, and I also plan to run a virtual server for file storage and media streaming.

@AtaOzd Your exactly right. I got an awesome deal on Black Friday for the CPU + motherboard combo through Newegg, and then I went to my local computer store that price matched the Newegg bundle AND gave me a $30 discount for bundling them. Awesome, right? I didn't see any great deals like that for the Coffee Lake, likely because its newer. Regardless, this is primarily a gaming rig so while the extra threads and cores of the 8700k would be nice, not really necessary.

I would catch a grenade for a deal like that

@AtaOzd Yeah it was pretty dang cool. So now whenever I find a good price for a part online via Newegg/Amazon, I can go to my local store (Microcenter) and get it price matched and then buy it same day! Only thing is tax, but still super nice and convenient.

@HAMZANOVSKY- I got the motherboard + cpu bundled on Black Friday for a very good price. Didn't see many deals like that with the 8700k, likely due to it being newer. All good though. This is a gaming rig, so as nice as the extra cores and threads would have been, not really necessary.

Thanks so much for commenting and checking out my build!

@AtaOzd Ty bro. Case is a beauty but a ***** for cable management. I have to go back in there and take care of a few pesky cables, but otherwise I think it turned out great. Thanks for your comment buddy

Did you twist the H100i v2 hoses one full rotation?

I definitely had to manipulate them a bit. Mounting that thing was a pain, I actually had to have my friend help hold it down while I screwed in the radiator.

At first I had it facing downward because that's what felt natural with the way the hoses were, but they were blocking the view of my GFX card. But yeah, it takes a bit of work. And then you might be able to see I ziptied them together to clean things up a bit.

Ya I was looking at that -- I couldn't tell if they were staying in place like that because of the zip ties or if you twisted the block a full rotation. I think I'm going to try using the zipties on mine -- thanks!
