Description

For my first build, it went a lot more smoothly than I was anticipating. I just did my research and all in all am very please with the result.

My main goal was to build something that wasn't going to become outdated any time soon, but I also wanted to keep it within a reasonable budget. I did this mostly by finding a lot of parts on sale from various online stores. A lot of the better priced parts I found also happened to be red or black, so I continued the theme and allowed myself to splurge a bit by getting some LED fans.

I plan on overclocking the CPU at some point once I've finished messing around with everything else.

Part Reviews

CPU

Very pleased with this CPU. I was able to get it for a pretty darn good price band new off of ebay. It has a lot of punch and I haven't even overclocked it yet.

CPU Cooler

Absolutely love this little guy. It's kept my CPU extremely cool even while streaming and gaming, and it's so quiet I can't ever hear it. The red see-through tube, and the pulsing LED light, along with the great price are some the main things that made me have to have this. I almost gave this a four star because I really, really hate the ribbed black plastic tubing they used. This thing would look like it cost well over $100 if they had used a bit better looking tubing. I really can't complain too much though with all the other good things going for it.

Motherboard

Great motherboard, with absolutely everything I've needed out of it. I've read some people were having issues with the sound being too low but I've actually had the opposite.

Video Card

Great card for the price. It's been able to take everything I've thrown at it full force. I was worried the blue continued onto the side, but it's actually very clean looking with nice silver and black lettering.

Case

Suburb case! I would recommend this case to anyone who's building a PC for the first time. So much room for extra cable management if you happen to not get a fully modular power supply. Great airflow, and I very much like having the power supply tucked away from the main component section.

Power Supply

This power supply comes with wrapped cabling. I repeat this power supply comes with wrapped cabling! And it looks great! It also came with every single cable I could just about ever hope to use in this PC plus more. You won't be disappointed.

Talk about a form factor liquid cooler. Loving the red and black design too. Nice build (and cat).

Cat's mind: "Dang who is that sexy beast in the glass looking at me. Oh wait, it's me." :D Great build!

For the title are you referring to the agent of the 9?

It's named after Seven of Nine who was the borg drone from the Voyager Star Trek series :)

She's played by the lovely Jeri Ryan. She was the beacon of light that guided me through puberty.
