This PC was built in mind of budget, gaming, and productivity. Doing editing in Adobe programs and gaming on any game I can get my hands on is what purpose this PC has.

CPU- I overclocked to 4.2GHz and I'm running at 32 C on idle and about 63 C under full load for one hour. I also have my fan in a silent mode so it is quiet even when under full load and I cant even hear it.

GPU- I don't know if it's luck but my GTX 970 SSC came to me clocked at 1573MHz and it runs at 76 C under full load after an hour and it runs at 38 C while idle. Great card do recommend.

There are no components that acted funny or did not work everything worked out fine after 2 months she is still running great and I recommend this build to anyone else looking for a PC in this price range.

Also I plan to add blue accents to my case, I will post them later.

Part Reviews

great! I can run at 4.5GHz and not go above 72 C with an H60

CPU Cooler

Fking Amazing! I can run my fan at silent mode where I cant even here it but still get temps lower than normal. I do a 4.2GHz OC on a i5 4690k and only max out at like 63 C.

Thermal Compound

Looks cool makes me feel professional.

AMAZING! Best underated mobo in the universe. Has a awesome user friendly BIOS and is great with it being the only Z97s with a blue black theme. Better than any of the other Extreme series boards because of the stuff you get with it and the we way it performs for under $150.

Beautiful, probably can OC but have not tried. Runs great at 1866 lightning fast and the blue just matches my PC perfect.

GREAT! Will do almost 500mb seq read and rite speeds.

Great for space and will run at 150mb read and rite!

Video Card

Mine came stock to my house running at 1573MHz and is a close match to my friends 980 plus it runs great at 76 C at a max. Also is quite.

Love the color, kind of tight with full size ATX but looks good in the end.

Power Supply

Not mutch to say, if you got something to hide the non-modular cables the PSU works great.

Operating System

Case Fan

It's blue and will run at a constant 2000 rpm without being loud.

You should burn that rebel flag while you're at it

Im not a redneck or any pro racist guy I'm an average guy that likes RED WHITE and BLUE flags. I love the way the flag looks not what it represents, also i got my American Flag higher to show its greater :D.

You sir are a man after my own heart. I stumbled upon this build while looking for a good, cheap, blue mb for a 4790k that I'm about to get. And your spec list is crazy similar to mine. So to the point, I really appreciate this build. And it makes me want to do a small mod or two on my s340, seeing how easy and good looking yours appears.

"Bang for your buck" is a little bit of an exaggeration. The graphics card with the best performance per value as of current is the r9 380 or r9 380x as they have comparable prices. You could have easily achieved very similar or equal cooling performance with a Hyper 212 Evo that can be found for $20-$30, with much less hassle than a low profile water cooler. If you really wanted, you could have just asked around for Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 as Microsoft usually partners with schools, colleges, and workplaces to provide free software for those associated with their partners. Overall it seems a little high priced for a productivity build and there are certain areas where you could have saved more money for very similar performance.

Well in a sense i got the gfx card for 250 new, psu for 40 with mir, and the cooler is no where near the performance of the 212 i had it and at 4.2 it idled at 43 c or so and under load was loud at almost 70. After trying alot of different fan setups temps wouldnt go down so i went with the h60. Also the 380x was not out in sptember or it did not have my attention. The build is great for its price and u can look into it but i get so much more performance for the buck with a fac oced gtx 970 at 1500 MHz vs 980MHz. Also with deals not going on its still a great build and my i5 matches a 4790k in rendering 4k videos and obviously in gaming. Idk if u still dont agree but my pc weather i was lucky or not i sucessfuly built a pc that can play gta 5 at 80 fps max graphics 4x msaa and render 20min 4k footage about as fast as an i7

Also windows 10 was a preference that i chose for the fact i like it exchange the parts u want but its a good guideline
