Description

Gaming and development.

Initially OC to 4.7. Delidded with a 3d printed delidding tool which bent my CPU and broke off a piece, but thats nothing a pair of pliers couldn't solve. Applied liquid metal and OC easily to 5.0GHz. I guess that capacitor wasn't needed after all.

H100i v2 failed after 2 years, replaced with Noctua NH-D15 which barely fits (GPU backplates FTW)

If it works and you don't know how, don't worry about. It you broke something off (and you don't know what it does) and it works, worry about it later.

Cool build. So what do you use in your rig now?

Still the same config, perhaps a new CPU sooner than I would like if it craps out.

Gonna need a new motherboard for that. I've got the same CPU and I know that there is no more road to upgrade there. Would you stick with intel (maybe 8th gen, 9th...... 10th?) or would you go with AMD?

That depends on the gaming performance. FPS is priority in my books, which currently looks like the 9900k has AMD beat but I wont be shopping for a few years.

Prime95 with small FFTs and Furmark to get things nice and toasty for 30 mins. I got those temps on the AIO until the pump failed. The Noctua is nearly identical - I think I'll stick to air going forward. I've had a few friends with dead pumps or leaking seals. Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut easily saw a 20C drop after delid. I highly recommend it if your heart can handle the chance of breaking your CPU.
