Description

Basically a current update on how my pc has progressed since I last posted it. To save the trouble of writing comments on every part ill be just commenting on updated parts and you can look at my old build for further comments on other parts.

Motherboard: Originally had the VI Hero board but it ended up breaking because I somehow managed to break 2 pins and it refused to post. To send back to Asus in America to fix+shipping would cost me $200+ so i ended up just grabbing a VII Hero instead. Board is still great as ever and i love the new LED glow on the chipset heatsink.

Fans: Grabbed a pair of sp120 quiet edition fans for my h100i originally but the airflow was way too poor for my liking which ended up with me grabbing a pair of noctua nf f12's. The noctua's are amazing with their quality and quietness. Looking to most likely replace all fans in my case with noctua's soon.

Fan Controller: Originally bought the sentry 2 by accident which only came with 3 pins where as i needed 4 pins. Changed to a sentry 3 and it works great. Easy to use and responsive touch screen.

Case: Originally had the nzxt h440 which I liked but a 750D came up for sale and the price was too good to pass up. Love this case its nice and big and easy to work on (I have big hands and it was bit harder to work with on the h440). Only problem i find with it is that i find the windowed side panel feels a bit weak like it may warp from being moved around too much. May mod the case later and remove the plastic window for a glass window.

Graphics Cards: I had 2 gtx 670's in my other build but ended up trading to pair of 780's shortly after. They work great and ive managed to clock +175mhz on the core and +350mhz on the memory. Would clock further but it seems my MSI one doesnt like to clock as well as my asus (70% asic score on msi compared to 77% on the asus).

Keyboard/Mouse: Changed from a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 and a Gigabyte M6980x Mouse to a k70 keyboard and m60 mouse. Reason for change is I originally wanted the k70 with blue leds with cherry mx reds but they were quite rare to find. Ended up managing to find one for a decent price so i ended up selling my blackwidow and bought the k70.

Monitors: Originally had a 3 monitor setup but i was finding that i did not use the third as much so i ended up giving them away to friends and bought 2 27" monitors instead. Waiting till prices go down a bit and will most likely change to 1440p or 4k monitors.

Future upgrades: Hopefully 1440p/4k monitors. Waiting on nvidia to release either 980 ti or whatever their next series will be and will upgrade to that. Replace all case fans with Noctua's. Most likely will end up changing the case again

I think its 1337. I think this guy is trying to say "Great Mate I rate 8/8". The 8/8 part I can only think is 8 out of 8 and he was trying to be punny with all of the 8's.

Wow, really nice build! You should maybe add some sleeved cables for the extra eye candy.

Wanted red sleeved cables but the price is currently $120 aud for corsair ones and thats before shipping.

Have you thought of sleeving it yourself??

Most likely will just end up buying the main sleeves that people see instead of a whole bag full. Don't really have time to sit around and sleeve it myself. Worst part is....red cost the most !

It's a very clean build. I love the case and the LEDs. The fan controller is amazing.

Just one question: Why didn't you go wiuth 970s rather than 780s?

+1

Thanks. I bought the 780's before the 970's came out. The 970's brand new in aus are near $500 mark where as i bought these used for $275~350 so it wasnt all too bad.

Ah, I see. Then that was certainly a good decision.
