Description

I’m upgrading from console and an old laptop that I’ve been using for a few years now, wanted to get a solid performance in games like minecraft and forza

I carried over my headset (Razer kraken 7.1 pro I think) and I bought a Corsair ironclaw rgb wireless, I like the headset and the mouse seems quite adequate especially after I fixed some problems with the software etc. Also chucked in a commander pro to use with the fans, from my experience it seems alright.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great cpu, very good performance great price for the 6 cores and 12 threads.

Motherboard

Seemingly nice board, booted first time with my 3600 good bios too.

Memory

Pretty good ptp, I don’t mind the minimal design either.

Storage

nice and quick to boot if used as a boot drive, cheap too only gripe is that it doesn't look great however in my case (no pun intended) it's barely visible through the dark side panel.

Storage

not the fastest of drives but, who can complain at a little over £30?

Video Card

It lives up to the hype, very good graphics card at a good price The cooling is good too, the fans hardly ramp up even during sustained gaming sessions.

Case

Easy to build in, just struggled to get the IO shield in. Cable management seemed pretty good.

Power Supply

very good price (at the time) for a gold 850w psu, not a lot more to say.

Case Fan

Moves a lot of air while staying reasonably quiet.

Monitor

very good monitor, I got it while it was on sale so 100% worth the price. (I now believe what i thought to be a sale is a permanent price change)

Keyboard

It is what it says it is, long usb cable too.

I've seen reports of people having issues of getting the RGB on the case to function with this motherboard. Did you experience that? I have these two parts ordered and on the way so I'm very curious.

I had no problems to begin with although, the RGB splitter physically wouldn’t fit so I had to get another Currently I don’t use the RGB on the case fans as I‘ve swapper one of them our and it’d look a bit Hope this helps

Hhhhmmmm. Ok, that's a bit of a shame. I don't have any splitters lying around and don't really want to buy any. Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, the bit above was something completely different, the rgb wouldn’t work with out a commander pro rgb controller thing... Hope this helps and sorry for the misinformation above

I was able to get the rgb fans to work perfectly fine on mine without any issue. Just plugged it into the JRBG header and that was it. I initially had the orientation wrong. But once I flipped it, it was fine.
