Description

built this pc in september 2016 decided i want to get into water cooling and attempt my first custom loop make a sleek white , blue and chrome build.

first step was finding the right parts and copper pipe for this build decided on the 6700k and delid and use a z270i mb for the extra m.2 slots and the ekwb mono block. went for bitspower royal blue fittings and 12mm copper pipe that i had to order from the uk via ebay since the australian standard is 1/2inch(12.7mm) and no one in australia can supply 12mm OD copper pipe cost me $160aud for 2.5metres.

spray painter by trade so painting the case, fans res etc was a simple task and used a water based paint its a one coat system so a heavy build up would not happen on the sp120 fans painted the rings a blue pearl to match the fittings and break up the white a bit.

next step was bending the copper pipe had to heat the pipe to a cherry red and then let cool to soften the copper so it was bendable after all the fail bends i finally got them all right and sent them away for chrome and polish work.

few mods like the front io was removed for a nice clean look and psu cover made

still arriving is cable combs for the 24pin and a custom side panel and some stickers

No psu, no problem, when I'm clutching a 1v5 on csgo that pressure between my bum generates enough power to run NYC for a week.

Nice upgrade on old from new in all seriousness. Its amazing to see what it was to that sleek white it is now. Hope it lasts you a long while!

You've given me a few ideas for a project next weekend. Bake my case white/blue, not because yours is, but because that goes with my cables, and tint my window on my case.

This is nice, +1

Great build! Just being picky, your pump power cables are not sleeved, just left exposed. Other than that, it looks like you put a lot of effort into it. Good Job!

doesn't the spray paint impede the fan performance?

  • 1 point

It would if you were to use canned paint and put 3-4 coats i ised a waterbased paint and it covers in 1 coat and since its water based once the water drys the thickness of the coat is about 13 microns pre sure 1 micron is 0.001 of a millimeter so it is fine

Australia Hype!

Beautiful colour scheme, red/black is overused and I'd say the same for black/green. Black, white and blue is the way of the future. (As stated in my own build Mont Blanc)

The first picture of the painted fans looked scary...as it looked like the paint built up and solidified; but the final product is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and enthusiasm, worthy for that Predator you've hooked it up to.

Fantastic work, enjoy your feature.

Any particular reason you went with chromed copper pipes aside from aesthetics? They look great but I'm just curious if there are any advantages of using copper over PEGT.

  • 2 points

Plastic welded all the other holes then used a plastic filler to fill all the imperfections coat of primer then painted it

Was it easy/cheap? Ive considered doing it for awhile but didnt have an idea of how until your post

honestly the monitor seems a little over board considering if you got a cheaper one say around 600 dollars you could've got an i7-8700K and more storage

  • 1 point

8700k was not out at the time of building 7700k was just released and was not really a upgrade over the 6700k
