Description

My third build...mostly used for Excel and Word Processing with an occasional YouTube session.

Intel i9-9900K - Got is stable to 5.1 GHz with a -3 AVX offset on 1.275 volts. Crushes all the macros I use in Excel.

Corsair H100i RGB Platinum - Works fine with my low ambient temperature...keeps the temps around 33C idle and around 60C gaming. Would get a 360 rad if I lived somewhere warmer.

Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero - Got it for a steal and I am very comfortable with the Asus BIOS. Read a bunch of people on the interwebs were complaining about the VRM on these motherboards not being a true 8 phase but if you aren't doing competitive overclocking, I wouldn't worry about it even with the 9900K.

G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200 - Recycled from my last build. Love this RAM.

Crucial MX500 1TB M.2 - Storage for OS and most of my apps. It's speedy and affordable.

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD - Some more recycled parts from my last build. Have two of these in RAID 0 for my Steam Library.

Hitachi Travelstar - Don't know where this came from (maybe my PS4 pro) but use it as a backup drive.

EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti - My wife got this for me for Christmas (she's the best). Zero stutter watching YouTube videos at 720p.

Corsair Crystal 460X - The case from my last build. I really like the aesthetics of this case but a huge pain to cable manage if you have a bunch of wires.

Corsair HX1000i - Picked this up on the cheap from Craigslist. Great power supply.

Corsair LL120 Fans - Had these on my last build. Great looking fans but there are definitely better fans out there in terms of airflow.

Asus ROG Swift PG348Q - I've had this monitor for a while. Love the ultrawide aspect ratio and the slight curve of it. Could never go back to 16:9.

Corsair Strafe RGB keybord/Sabre RGB mouse - Had these for a while too. Mainly use them because I'm stuck in the corsair ecosystem now.

Thanks for looking!

JheyoDELperu 5 points 1 month ago

yeah, that has to be a real pain to run on this pc'.. right?... RIGHT???

Bronstet 4 Builds 16 points 2 months ago

No way can this thing handle both Word AND Excel open at the same time! Should have gone for the Titan RTX! What were you thinking?!?

iri1989 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Ikr, I got the Titan RTX to run Fornite. That's some real usage at least.

Falkwulf 2 Builds 1 point 26 days ago

But the Real Question is........ Can it run Crysis

iri1989 1 Build 1 point 26 days ago

I dunno I tried to blend it before running Crysis and now it doesn't work anymore.

three8one 4 Builds -1 points 1 month ago

Still a waste of electricity.

ZFGeek 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

No, Two titans is a waste of electricity. One is just fine.

rdracerboyd 1 Build 13 points 2 months ago

Your wife should be a paid consultant to other wives of pc gamers. My wife has never bought me a gpu. :(

LeMMingSlayeR 22 Builds 3 points 1 month ago

My GTX 1070 was a Birthday gift a few years ago from my wife :D

CoolCrusader 1 Build 2 points 1 month ago

Woah! :D

You're not alone, I had to go to war against my wife when I bought two 1080Ti. Obviously I won the battle, but the war goes on.

ZFGeek 1 Build 8 points 2 months ago

Excel. And word processing. Thats it. That PC is probably the MOST overkill PC for that kind of workload. And I love it! Awesome build, best gaming hardware has to offer!

floridaboz 4 Builds 4 points 1 month ago

If i would of built this, i would say my main use is playing minesweeper and solitaire just to be "that guy"

YungNillaP 1 Build 5 points 1 month ago

I'm no expert, but I think each core equals one tab of Google Chrome. 40Ghz/8tabs=5.0Ghz. Just under max load

Wolklung 6 points 2 months ago

What sort of fps are getting in Word with this thing? Awesome build!

fer08g 7 points 1 month ago

easy 60wps depending on the hpu (human processing unit)

shreduhsoreus 6 Builds 3 points 1 month ago

110 in my case lol.

MicroPOpa 3 points 2 months ago

Hey, what are those light up triangle things in the back? I'm really digging them.

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 3 points 2 months ago

Aurora Nanoleaf Panels

MicroPOpa 1 point 2 months ago

Ok thanks :)

eesti 3 points 1 month ago

Can this run Minesweeper at 144p 10fps?

Moyeezes 1 point 1 month ago

tbh, this can support maximum 360p but at a decent 1hz refresh rate

CloudZGaming 2 points 2 months ago

lol probably zero stuttering watching 4k

SytherTyler 2 points 1 month ago

builds $6600 pc "I mostly use it for word ad excel"

And damn that must be one nice wife to drop $2000 on you for christmas

Pladdaah 4 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Welcome in 2k19 - Bling Bling :)

LucianM1 2 points 1 month ago

I'm assuming this is a troll, but at that point you're paying 100$/year for Office 365, while spending 4.8K on a PC. That's some dedication for Microsoft if anything else.

eliekdahl 1 point 2 months ago

WOW

Tuskeyemer 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

too swexy

TechTuberTV 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

i like the color mixes

MicroPOpa 1 point 2 months ago

Are you a streamer/youtuber? (I noticed the mic) If, so I would be happy to watch you :)

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

No just use it for gaming and for video calling.

MicroPOpa 1 point 2 months ago

Ok then, but if you ever start ;)

Kosta_Kop 1 point 2 months ago

My part list is nearly identical to your first build

andyshinn 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I'd love to see some photos with some single color or two-tone color schemes.

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Added two more pics w/ a quick red and white theme

andyshinn 2 Builds 4 points 2 months ago

Very cool. In my opinion, two-tone setups like those are where RGB shines. The default "rainbow" looks so hectic to me.

DrLitch 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Nice and colorful a feast for the eyes. Excellent build.

ZedSamCat 1 point 2 months ago

In the first pic the fans are making a face lmao

tresnugget 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

So clean! And that CPU is golden if it's truly stable at 5.1 GHz @ 1.28v

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

CPU is a gem. 5.2 is doable on 1.315 volts but temps start getting a little toasty

bobbysix 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Surprised you need the AVX offset - there are some who would say that if you need to have an offset, the OC is not fully stable.

Gibbytronix 1 point 2 months ago

Sweet! Looks clean

Flika1999 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Beautiful +1

daUnitedpotato 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

I don't know, man. I think you need more RGB. Seems to be slacking a little bit. ;)

In all seriousness though, that's a really beautiful build. Very well done. +1

echobrae 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

My favorite part is the 5000 dollar PC paired with a 18 dollar amazon mic stand :)

shreduhsoreus 6 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Not all broadcast style mic stands are cheap. You can get a cheap one, or you can get one that's well made.

echobrae 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

I know, I just find it amusing given that I'm a budget streamer with the EXACT same one :)

AustinHerzfeldt 7 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Thank god you're runnin' an ultrawide. Ultrawides are so underrated in my opinion.

ewhac 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Ultrawides are so underrated in my opinion.

Gratuitous self-promotion: Chime in here with your thoughts, please... :-)

DZDP 1 point 1 month ago

If you were commenting 720p videos as a joke, then okay. If not, then what le *** were u thinkin.

itstan 1 point 1 month ago

The last two pics are a great representation of RGB use, +1

oblivionofficial 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

What's the microphone?

DelTacoBoi 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Looking good! Loving that yellow wallpaper with the blue lights on the desk.

fakeirish 1 point 1 month ago

I think I saw the reddit thread of your wife asking GPU recommendations. (Well if it's the same person of course)

rhanny13 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

That first wide shot, with the whole setup in full unicorn barf mode. So many colors!!

beardedmisfit 5 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Great looking build and solid specs! How is that case for air flow? Nice build man! +1 Congrats on the feature. I do have one question, the pane lights on the wall, they correspond with the PC and the lighting?

Dulcow 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Fantastic build! I'm also curious about your overclocking settings to reach 5.1Ghz with 9900K (all BIOS settings basically).

I started trying overclocking this morning and I only get poorer performances when I use my own settings. I must be missing something somewhere but I have no idea what :D

diypartsjoy 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

Looks nice. I like those triangles of light.

DamianG12345 1 point 1 month ago

"Zero stutter watching YouTube videos at 720p." are you for real

Simulint 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Tell us about the sword though. What's its story?

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

I have 5 game of thrones replica swords to right of my desk around my wife's computer and all the force fx lightsabers on the opposite wall of my desk

drunkbadger 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Nice desk setup!

wajdial 1 point 1 month ago

wow

longlostmeme 1 point 1 month ago

Oh god this is gorgeous. I'm most likely going to follow this build for my newest pc!

Wolf88 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

What is your GPU temps and fan speed at 124% power limit and can you confirm its generating 360w + ? Mine is ridiculously hot.

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

I don't get really get over 60c on the temps but I have a chilly house. I have a custom fan curve that cranks up to 60% at 60c. It's not quiet

septapus 1 point 1 month ago

word he says i think you meant rendering 4k adult content to you vr headset

Sumiers 1 point 1 month ago

This is one of the cleanest and most colorful builds I have seen in a while +1

obaidbd 1 point 1 month ago

DemiToast 1 point 1 month ago

Damn, this is gorgeous. I want more information regarding the setup on the wall!

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Nanoleaf Aurora light panels

Shmoneyy_Dance 1 point 1 month ago

Yes I have heard the 2080 ti could handle 720p youtube videos but I never believed it. The innovation of today's day is insane!

trylaarsdam 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

minesweeper at 20fps right?

teemo33 1 point 1 month ago

dude that mouse is it worth .-.?

coolswagers100 1 point 1 month ago

what desk are u using?

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

It's the Ikea linnomin (sp.) I would not recommend it unless you have a small build

watawep17 1 point 1 month ago

clean af

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

In the wise words of Mike Skinner: i'm blinded by the lights.
+1

kaedekurosawa18 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

MMMMMMM. That is crisp. Lit build, dude! RGB For the win!

EliteL0jik 1 point 1 month ago

Odd question, but why RAID 0? I don't meet many people that use it

Also, thats a pretty good looking money pit you have there :)

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

At this point, doing stuff like that is more of a hobby

undeadrebel1441 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

What do you use to monitor your temps ? Also +1 for Build and another +1 (if I could) for the nano-leaf lighting!!

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

HWMonitor for temps

Clemeit 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

"OK seriously this whole RGB craze is getting wa-" OMG that's beautiful!

gunit1111 4 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

But how many frame rates does it get in Powerpoint? WINK

neo_explorer84 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Awesome build man!

What app is that in pic 8???

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Corsair icue

neo_explorer84 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Cool, thanks!

Aaditya1203 1 point 1 month ago

I am not really a huge fan of flashy and really expensive PC builds, but this one looks beautiful.

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Damn, he trolled all of you.

Hoopsta 1 point 1 month ago

Is there enough clearance in this build to install 2 more fans on the rad for a push pull config?

Jasonlandastan submitter 2 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

Nope, the GPU is too long. Would have to get a shorter you to make it work
