Description

Very pleased with how this has turned out. Been running on a Core2Quad Q6600 for far too long. (Borrowed an i7 2600k off a friend for casual gaming)

I do 95% gaming. Knew the Zen2 chips would be out soon, so didnt rush into 2nd generation Ryzen. Glad I waited. Popped a 3600x under a Kraken x62 and it sits nicely at 4.2Ghz on all cores without going much past 65ºc. The MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming Z Trio is slightly overkill for what I need, but my intention is the future proof.

Part Reviews

CPU

Fantastic CPU, I dropped it into a Tomahawk Max and cooled it with a Kraken x62. PBO straight to 4.2Ghz on all cores, nice and cool. No crashes yet.

CPU Cooler

Can this cooler be faulted? I don't think so. Keeps my 3600X nice and cool. Might upgrade the fans in time but stock fans suit me fine.

Motherboard

Same as its little brother but without the need to flash the BIOS for Zen2. 5/5.

Memory

Nice smooth RGB, straight to 3200mhz without question. Havnt OC'd yet.

Storage

Amazing drive. Brilliant access speeds for the price. At the moment, I'm 16 seconds from power on to Windows desktop.

Video Card

Overkill for what I need but I bought its power for years to come. I only have a 165hz panel and game at 1080p so for me its perfect. Allows me to game and stream on a single PC too. Love nVidia <3

Case

I was a Phanteks fan boy till a mate told me to try this case, I did just that on my last build and I can say im now a NZXT fan boy.

Power Supply

Id love to give this 5/5 but it didn't come with a UK power lead so ill take a star off. Other than that, great.

Man, you're a trooper for sticking to a Q6600 for that long! Congrats on a well deserved Zen 2 upgrade!

Nice Build! Just wondering if your RTX gpu fan is loud during boot up? Mine sounds like a hair dryer for a few seconds during start up.

My gpu fans and cpu cooler are both loud for the first 10 seconds of bootup

Frustrating, right? I'm sure you were going for a quiet build like me.
