Description

First build. First watercooling loop.

Oh what a fulfilling experience. I had many challenges along the way, but yet at all the crucial points the build went on without a hitch. I suppose thats what i get for doing 3 years of research before building. :P

Specs are as you see on the side bar. As for the loop it is:

-Ek fc1070 gpu block

-Ek supremacy evo (see note 1)

-Alphacool nexxxos st30 xflow 240mm rad

-Ek compression fittings in red 10/16mm (3/8-5/8")

-Ek 90 degree fittings

-bitspower t fitting

-bitspower 5mm spacer male-male

-bitspower blood red plug

-Liang ddc 3.25 18w pump

-bitspower magic cube pump top

-bitspower reservoir upgrade 150mm

-nidec gentle typhoon 1850rpm pwm

Temps run fine on the single 240mm rad during extended gaming periods. Idle cpu/gpu 22c/28c Load cpu/gpu 52/48

In doing this build i have a few takeaways.

Note 1: you need the supremacy evo backplate and mounting mechanism if you want to mount a supremacy mx block. At that point you should just buy an evo block to begin with.

Note 2: i needed to cut off 5mm of the pump mount sled of the define nano s to slide the res far enough forward to accommodate the gtx 1070.

Note 3: the evga 1070 backplate is compatible if the ek fc1070 waterblock.

thanks! i wanted a really sleek and clean build. I'm not a big fan of the overly flashy led/multicolored builds.

maybe ill throw in some custom colored cablemods cables to finish off the build.

I personally think the stock cables are fine but custom cables are always a plus sounds great +200000

3 Years of research before building? You are FAR more disciplined than I am. Great build!

more like day dreaming and fantasy building up until i gathered enough funds.

+1 sweet build. I have always find the nano S particular sexy. Are you going to do any OC? Is (will) the 550 PSU have enough juice for you?

Probably going to oc at some point. Else why would i have bought a k series cpu and z170 board.

Though for right now, im playing at 1080p and this setup kills everything at this resolution while staying very cool so i dont see the point. Maybe if i upgrade to 1440p or 4k

Usually I'm not to thrilled with soft tubing builds, but I think this looks very nice and clean. +1

Are the fan mounts on the front of the case 140mm or 120mm? My final step for choosing parts are my fans on the case. Planning to do a 6700k and 1080 Strix!

I actually have the stock 140 and 120 mounted in the front. I believe there are mounts for 2x140mm and 2x 120mm
