Description

Got a part time job and started working on my dream to get a high end PC.

It all started when one of my friend was selling his GTX 1080 for $225. $225. $225. Did you read that $225.

I am not kidding. I even ask him if he was sure and he was straight up handing me his GTX 1080.

But at that time I had a computer I was using that will bottleneck the GTX 1080.

(Sorry guys for the mislead. When I said what I said above, I mean my old computer with an AMD FX-6300)

So I started saving up money and went craiglist, microcenter, ebay hunting for parts.

and here I am with this build.

P.S. THANK YOU FOR THE SUPER DISCOUNTED GTX 1080

Best friend ever, and may I say I will gladly buy that 1080 for $300.

Love the color scheme from the 1080 and the LEPA! And a 1080 for 225$?! Must be a real nice friend lol.

And no, the i5-4690k will not bottleneck the 1080. I've seen people run dual 980TI's off of it with no issues.

None the less, nice build! Great color scheme and the work you put into getting the parts all together paid off. Enjoy your basically free 1080 and happy gaming! : ) +1

Thanks!

I actually had a AMD FX 6300 before hand hence I said "I had a computer I was using that will bottleneck the GTX 1080." (Though that's what all my friend told me.)

Thanks! and yes it does. Imagine if I had bought the GTX 1080 for the market price, it'll be a lot of saving for me.

You should set a custom price for your GPU

  • Hey buddy, I'm selling my 1080 for $225.
  • Whoa dude, that's a lot of money... But there isn't any kind of computer store in this town (actually, there are like 3 NCIX lmao), so, I'm buying it! Here you got the money
  • Thank you for buying it!

He said he was getting a Titan X, though I'm not sure if it the Pascal one or the Maxwell card. Rich bast... I mean what.

Any problem with the cooling system leaking or anything? read lots of bad review really doing research before I buy. Thanks

  • 1 point

No problems whatsoever! Still working great. I also read the reviews and such but I was skeptical but went and bought it anyways. If you are still worried the kit should come with a way to test to turn on the pump to check if there is a leak or anything before you mount it on your CPU.

Another question I already ordered it but is the tubing long enough to mount the reservoir on the front of the cast instead of the top.

You mean the Radiator? If so, yeah its long to place it on the front of the case.

Kuya, pare newbee here.

Sorry sa late reply, I just refill the cooler whenever see its low, and yeah pwede mo use ang distilled water, and kailagan mo change yung coolant kung gusto mo change ang color.

The 4690k will bottleneck the 1080 in some games but nothing to worry about

+1 for a 1060 priced 1080

  • 2 points

no, it won't.

  • 1 point

there are games/situations where a 6950X @4,5 GHZ can bottelneck - so what?

  • 1 point

I doubt that the 4690k is not capable enough to run a 1080. The gpu will be fully utilized for sure, as nearly any desktop i5 at or above 3rd gen (better architecture) will not "bottleneck" per se, any graphics card on the market.

My 4690k bottlenecks my gtx 1070 in some games

  • 1 point

then Use DSR or crank up the graphics-sliders on the right side and youre good to go.

If a game is cpu-bound, then you are not bottlenecking the graphics card, you are rather getting lower framerates due to your cpu then.
