Description

Got laid off at the perfect time, got severance right before Black Friday so decided to treat myself :)

I've always done 'bang for buck' builds so I want this one to be beefy and flashy. Some of the parts are over kill, didn't need 64 gigs of ram but it was on sale so couldn't resist. Didn't want to buy the 2080 TI on account of all the negative feedback of cards dying and frying. The MSI 2080 Trio had great reviews so went with that and might SLI later if I don't just end up getting a 2080 TI once its reportedly more stable.

** Anyone buying this Board and case, 140 Fans with the top of the motherboard and cant be installed, have to use 120's.

Couldn't find a desk I liked so went to Home Depot and decided to build my own, its all cedar and finish the top with epoxy resin. Put a board in the back to hide all my cables and screwed in the 12 outlet power strip there too.

Ha vent stressed tested the machine yet, just got it built and doing drivers and such now, ill edit it once I have more information. CPU and GPU are sitting at 25-30C idle right now.

*Edit: Fixed part list and words.

O...kay...then...

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

I fixed it... my bad lol

TheShortCake 4 points 4 months ago

Very good, i'd say that you should have sticked to 16 gigs of ram, and then gotten a 9990k. But then again, maybe it wasn't in stock.

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

I got the 64 gig for around $300 and the 9990k were sold out when I bought everything sadly.

SychicMind 1 Build 3 points 4 months ago

gets laid off huh i guess i'll just buy a gaming pc

Nice build man!

DRAGONWARRIOR1028 2 points 4 months ago

"Got laid at the perfect time" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) But in seriousness, beautiful build, great specs. With 64 gigs of ram, you could probably dedicate half of it to a ram disk boot drive.

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

lol thanks and thats not a bad idea.

TheDankKn1ght 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

If you have 64GB of RAM then you should probably change the 32 in your parts list

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

I changed it, thanks for heads up.

TheDankKn1ght 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

No problem :] amazing build btw

Nice build +1! Think you could post a picture of the actual desk? Maybe without all the rgb going on. I'd like to see how it turned out in better detail.

Trollution_of_destruction 2 points 3 months ago

Can you really have 3 fans on the top of the h700i and how do they intake air? +1 for the awesome build hope you respond

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

The 3x120s are in taking air from the top and pushing out the radiator. Wasn't my initial plan but the 140 fans or radiator couldn't fit due to the motherboard's VRM heatsink sitting to high.

Goldstarlabs 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Unless I’m looking at it wrong, your radiator is set in a “pull” configuration and your two 140mm fans are pulling air into the case. Your 3x 120 across the top (and rear fan) are set as exhaust. Air is flowing up and out of the top of your case

Could you put in a picture of your desk? I am building a pc and would like to look at it to get some ideas for my own desk.

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Sure thing, I'll message yah some stuff I used as reference when I was building it.

Thanks

I mean cool PC but a pretty bad idea to drop 4k+ when you dont have any income. Hope you find work soon m8.

I found a new job a few days later heh and thanks!

oil_52 2 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

i hope you bought those monitors on black friday. If i recall they where 350. Overall good build. looks awesome

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Yep, I was able to grab them on Black Friday. Just noticed it doesn't reflect that in the part list. I'll need to manually put that in there.

Snetto 1 point 4 months ago

What's the thing inside your case standing up to the right side of your GPU card? Congrats on the new job and timing with severance was great for the sales.

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

Its a cool master GPU support, the MSI 2080 is large and heavy and I needed something to reduce the sagging.

david.a.riedell@gmail.com 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Are you sure you can't mount a 140 fan on top? I have a 140mm Corsair h60 I wanted to top mount but now I'm worried it won't fit in this case.

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 2 points 4 months ago

It was hitting the motherboard that I have now, that generally isnt the case with others builds ive seen.

Goldstarlabs 1 Build 1 point 4 months ago

Hey man! I love your build. I’m about to transfer my current build in an s340 elite to the h700i so I’ve been trying to do some research. How did you go about connecting all 6 fans? Also, is there any reason why you Put the fans on the inside of the radiator and on the outside towards the case? Thanks!!

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 2 points 3 months ago

The case comes with a bunch of Y Connectors (lets you connect 3 fans to 1 cable) so just needed to use 2 of them. Also have the 2x140 pushing air out of the radiator/case while the rear 14 and 3x120s on top pull, there might be a better setup but I have had good temps so far. (CPU at full load sits around 50C and GPU at full load at 65C)

Goldstarlabs 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Check my other comment, I think you’ve got it mixed up (unless you’ve found a way to reverse the way these fans spin) but I ended up getting the case and completing the build. Thanks for the reply!

EchoAK 1 point 3 months ago

Can I ask CPU temps and Radiotor liquid temps during gaming?

TheRob09 submitter 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Not infront of my machine right now but as I recall they have been sitting around 55C
