Mainly used for browsing the web and a lot of gaming. It actually just went through a lot of aesthetic changes. Mainly the case, the extension sleeved cables, the cooler, etc. Even went as far as painting the GPU shroud (horrible paint job btw)

My OCD just kept kicking the back of my head until this build is complete. I'm planning on adding some white LEDs as well. Will update at one point.

Edit: So I finally got the time to paint my PSU. Because of the Prices of AMD cards sky rocketing due to miners, I can't afford another 7970 or a 280x for crossfire. So I have no real reason to upgrade it. So instead of getting a new PSU, I just decided to remove the stickers and coat it white. There goes my warranty.

The paint job again is not spectacular but enough to keep me happy :P

I also ordered a Kraken G10 to liquid(hybrid?) cool my GPU since it's got heating problems when I try to over clock it. I also want it cause it looks great and I have a kraken x40 that sits around my closet doing nothing.

I will update this build as soon as I get it.

I might as well put it here since a few of my friends that saw my desk wondered where all my cables go. My desk comes with a compartment where I stuffed all my cables in. My surge protector is also inside there. So in the last image, you can only see the cable from the surge protector. I like my cable management hidden from plain sight :D

Also the horrors of Non-Modular PSU and all it's filth. I didn't wanna show you guys, but I figured why the hell not. Behold behind my motherboard. Another reason why I really love the Define R4, is the HUGE space behind the motherboard for cable management. Even with that much clutter, I can still close the panel with no issues :P

I also added white LEDs. I didn't want to make it too flashy, but I do want to see it when it's dark. So I added a bit of lighting.

Also, try to find where I stuck the Corsair CX600 sticker :P

And sorry about the images. It somehow rearranged itself on it's own.

Edit: You're probably wondering how I hear anything since I have no speakers. I added a picture with my headset. I prefer headsets over speakers most of the time. I have an HTPC to watch videos so I never really had the need for PC Speakers.

Last Edit: Kraken G10s are here. And damn do they work well. I haven't gone above 40 degrees. I haven't had the chance to mess with the GPU with overclocks since it's midterms week for me. But I can't wait to do it :D

The Kraken G10s did come with a defective 92mm fan. But since I plan to replace it anyways it's no big deal. I also have a kraken X40 sitting around from my last build.

I guess this is the final build for now :P

O.o the paint job on that 7970 is awesome! But you overpayed for alot of these parts.

tomaryus 1 Build 7 points 64 months ago

I dont see a part he overpaid for. I dont think you now anything about current tech pricing

SethMatrix -9 points 64 months ago

Lmfao he had the 7970 at 450$ but changed it to 300$. I'd be little more respectful if I were you.

tomaryus 1 Build 1 point 64 months ago

"for a lot of these parts"-yet now you say 7970 was listed at 450. What are the other parts he overpayed for, dear sir ? I would make up my mind before posting a comment. Obviously you were not thinking straight at that time. These prices are almost %25 off of the regular prices of these components.

SethMatrix -4 points 64 months ago

Lol. Well for one the fx 6300 regularly goes on sale for 100$. 70$ for a Cavier blue?

tomaryus 1 Build 3 points 64 months ago

omg dude. I cant believe you are still trying to find a way to argue. paying 10 dollars more to a WD blue is not "overpaying". What are you going to say to 8gb ram for 50 bucks, windows 7 for 80bucks, psu for "30" $, phanteks phtc14pe for 75$ and fractal design for 80$ which is normally at 129$ price point. Learn the **** then come back.

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 2 points 64 months ago

I actually got the 7970 for I think around 300 dollars. I just grabbed it when I saw it go on sale. I just got lazy about looking up the prices I got it for a while back.

tomaryus 1 Build 1 point 64 months ago

this is an awesome looking build btw, really nice paintjob. Goodwork

MikiTheMagic 1 point 57 months ago

The only overpayed item I see is the Caviar Blue. For 80$ you can buy a Black.

skemble 24 Builds 5 points 64 months ago

A Silencer MKIII would make this look amazing!

SethMatrix 3 points 64 months ago

Or an nzxt psu!

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 4 points 64 months ago

The Hale90 V2 looks pretty good. I'm just waiting for some reason for me to need more power so I can justify getting it ><

noob_for_life 5 points 64 months ago

another 7970!

flyboy88 2 points 64 months ago

Really like the colors. Always liked the white and black with the define r4's sleek design. Well thought out build, and nice choice of parts.

bakluka438 2 points 62 months ago

Look, a Corsair sticker on a printer

optoabhi 1 Build 2 points 57 months ago

How can I get those white sleeved cables and what are the led lights you used ??

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 2 points 57 months ago

The white sleeved cables are from silverstone sleeved cables are available from amazon. The LED lights are the alchemy white LEDs. I wanted to grab the NZXT hue for more versatility but I found their 'white' not very white.

fnapoli 1 Build 1 point 64 months ago

Beautiful! I hope you plan on getting rid of the green on the power supply logo though...gotta make it perfect!

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 6 points 64 months ago

I do actually. I'm just waiting for a good reason to up my PSU to 850W and replace it with either a Hale90 V2 or a Silencer Mk III.

Painting it myself is also an option.

deathfromup 6 Builds 1 point 64 months ago

man i love cable sleeving, i plan to make my own soon. You should try to make some back and white ones, would look sick in this set up.

Only other comment is that you should paint the Green CX on the PSU white or something. Its the last thing that is colored in the build and it really is throwing me off.

Swish2000 1 point 64 months ago

I'm assuming you watched teksyndicate on the shroud painting? If you didn't, it's too late but they have a great tutorial on there on how to do it!

ExoTecher 1 Build 1 point 64 months ago

You have some of the best cable management I have ever seen, and yet your PSU isn't even modular! I would give +10 if I could, +1 I guess.

P.S. The paint job on the GPU is great!

cjeffcoatjr 3 Builds 1 point 64 months ago

Thats awesome. Upload more pictures, and maybe paint the CX on your PSU white, and this might just be my new favorite build. +1.

hanss 1 Build 1 point 64 months ago

hows the 6300 with the 7970

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 3 points 64 months ago

Not bad really. I clocked my 6300 to 4.3GHz. I can run BF4 at a constant 60 FPS @ 1080p.

hanss 1 Build 3 points 64 months ago

not bad at all

zemco999 1 point 64 months ago

Love the colors. Great job! There is someone who sells new logos for corsair PSU's whatever color you want, on Overclock.net I will try to find the thread for you!

malcar11 4 Builds 1 point 64 months ago

Wonderful and pretty! I'm planning to build something like this (not that cute) and using a R9270X GPU. Congrats for a beautiful machine.

dalethezombie 2 Builds 1 point 64 months ago

OMG love the paint! excellent job! :D

Toat13 1 Build 1 point 63 months ago

Dude, uptop on the cable management. Overall, the organization and look of this build (not to mention the performance) is amazing. Cheers!

Ethanace 1 Build 1 point 63 months ago

This is such an epic build mate nicely done

80Bit 1 point 63 months ago

Very nice.

ipcn00b101 2 Builds 1 point 61 months ago

Normally I don't comment on builds, i just sneak around in the pcpartpicker community and look at all the builds I can. :P see what everyone else is doing. But I must say. Jesus christ I love how beautiful your build is. I literally keep coming back to see this beautiful work of god. It's beautiful and can do work. I can't wait to do my upgrade this summer.

(btw my username was suggestive to two years ago. :P)

nice pc, yes maybe you overpaid

MasDewa 1 point 57 months ago

not bad, but the case isn't match with their components

BaSkA 1 point 54 months ago

How is the Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK performing? Is it quiet?

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 1 point 51 months ago

I've undervolted the fans a bit to maintain low RPM and still maintains my CPU pretty cool. It is virtually unnoticable unless you put your ear next to it with the side of the case off.

SirSnugzAlot 1 point 52 months ago

hows the case

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 1 point 51 months ago

Case is wonderful. Real quiet. But to be fair I specifically chose parts to be quiet.

SirSnugzAlot 1 point 51 months ago

And how is the cpu cooler

Hazarded 1 point 52 months ago

Did you have problems mounting the cpu cooler?

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 1 point 51 months ago

No problems.

SirSnugzAlot 1 point 51 months ago

How is the cpu

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 1 point 51 months ago

I was in the budget at the time so I went with it and absolutely no regrets.

Currently over clocked at 4.3. Hasn't given me problems. Been running demanding games with out any issue.

CPU cooler is perfect for me. I got it with low sound levels in mind. Been running the fans on lower RPM to lower noise. Could have gone for a noctua, but color schemes had to match :)

josh95 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

That paint job tho, dude your awesome +1000

Ntress 1 point 49 months ago

How is the PH-TC14PE? do you like it? recommend it or maybe i can get the single fan version PH-TC12DX?

also why did you add external thermal compound?

SnuffyDuud 1 point 49 months ago

I'm going to build my first PC soon, and I was wondering if this processor is good enough to overclock with just the standard cooler it's shipped with? Please reply soon, thanks(love the build btw)!

TheMiniAsian 1 point 32 months ago

What were the specifics on your cpu. I have the same one and want to oc to the same ghz

A 6300 with a 7970? Won't some bottle necking occur?

SethMatrix 12 points 64 months ago

18hockey 1 Build 1 point 64 months ago

Ok jeez, I was just asking a question, no need for the downvotes.

SethMatrix 2 points 64 months ago

I actually didn't downvote. so yea..

Sirhcits submitter 1 Build 3 points 64 months ago

At first I thought it would. But a little over clock and it hasn't given me any issues. It's currently clocked in at 4.3ghz and idles at 13-14 and goes up to 30 under load.

SethMatrix 1 point 64 months ago

nice! what is your voltage at? It should be able to go really far with that cooler.
