Description

This build was a blast to do and many Thanks to Intel for the opportunity to showcase it live on demo with them at PAX SOUTH!

I really wanted something that would pop out in a dimly lit area and showcase the looks of the build. The ek UV blue coolant is just purely beautiful and when lit with light it really pops! With Intel in mind I went for a nickel/silver and blue look. The Gigabyte Z170 Gaming G1 motherboard is one of my favorites to use but the bright red/white just wouldn't work for this. After considering other options I just decided to risk it all and paint it. I chose silver to match with the blocks and the outrageous number of fittings Ill be using. All in all I'd say the paint job came out decent, it was better the first time but I tried getting fancy and adding blue... needless to say I was up all night fixing my mistake.

I love the way the loop turned out in this build. Originally I didn't plan on water-cooling the memory, but it just made the loop look much cleaner and I had a spare block so why not? I will also say having the 2x45 fittings saved my life with certain bends for this. Really great fittings to have if your not exactly 100% sure how your run is going to go, as they rotate and allow some bends. The SLI 980Ti's are running amazing and will be playing Just Cause 3 at the show.

All in all it was a blast and for having a last minute deadline ( only 2 days to build and ship!) its one of my favorites.

Thank you all and please visit aion-pc.com to customize your own!

Feature! Calling it now!

Where do you get your sleeved cables from?

+1 as always, my friend.
AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

It would be an honor and thanks man!

Faizan 1 point 39 months ago

:D

Faizan 1 point 39 months ago

Sleeved cables?

KB_Evolved 5 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

EVGA makes Sleeved Cables for their PSU's. CableMod also has Sleeved Cables for a few brands. There are a couple other places also.

Faizan 1 point 39 months ago

If I'm not wrong, you don't buy the sleeved cables directly from CableMod, right? It sends you to another link?

KB_Evolved 5 Builds 2 points 39 months ago

Correct.

http://www.performance-pcs.com/brand--cablemod/cable-type--psu-replacement-set/

that is the link. I and others I know have ordered from performance-pcs and the shipping was fast and easy. If you order Sleeved Cables make sure to order Combs. Combs are weak and brittle so order 2x as many as you need. Their cheap so its worth it. Sleeved cables can look bad if you don't do good with cable management and Combs make a build look SOOO much better IMO. Check out my 6600k build if you want for an example of what I'm talking about.

AION uses EVGA sleeved cables If I'm not mistaken. You can order those from Newegg, Amazon etc. The EVGA cables are what I used. Not sure if the Cablemods sleeved cables are better or not but I'm very happy with the EVGA sleeved cables. CableMods does have more color choices if you want red/black etc. they are the better option.

AION... You always impress me. The quality of your builds has always been oustanding! An inspirational vibe is given off by all of your builds! Keep up the good work!

One question though... Can customers ever request "hardline" tubing as an option for their builds?

Thanks a bunch,

RyRy ;)

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

I do hardline in most of my showbuilds I have more than 2 days with. The only thing that worries me with hardline is shipping... I have literally seen companies throw a computer into my dock. If its for another PCPP member I can do it no prob

RyRy 2 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

Ahh, okay. Just curious, might be interested in something like that soon :)

Thanks for the info, and sweet build once again!

quzar469 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

this build really makes me feel like im in an ocean :D

quzar469 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

IT says titan x on the GPU's in the picture but in this partlist it says that you used a 980ti. WHy is that????

jamster3141 1 point 39 months ago

980 ti and titan X use the same waterocks and backplates

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

Ek only makes TITAN X waterblocks but its compatible with both 980Ti and Titan x... its weird I know

Neowc 1 Build 1 point 39 months ago

You've put some good work, well done there! Also, nice photo job too.

I ask out of curiosity, for what purpose you built this cool machine with liquid cooling? Thanks.

drumilpatel 1 point 39 months ago

Beautiful build my friend. I love the colour of the coolant. Nice choice for your case.

builds like this are the reason i visit pcpartpicker. dude this rocks

on a second thought , would you review this ? http://pcpartpicker.com/guide/HvdnTW/ultimate-4k-build-log thanks

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Thanks man I truly appreciate that.

That build is sick! Not really anything to pick out other than a personal opinion ( I don't like the corsair AF series for radiators) otherwise its a beast. I love that motherboard too!

Gh0st_1095 1 point 38 months ago

what would you choose as fans for the radiators ? id like to know your thoughts. :)

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

I personally would go with EK Vardar F5's on that, if you want flashy the Riings by thermal take still provide solid airflow and statc pressure. My opinion may be biased though so dont take it as fact lol

Gh0st_1095 1 point 38 months ago

haha could you give me unbiased opinions , it would be greatly appreciated. :)

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

ok, if you want to use corsair I recommenced the SP fans for radiators. AF fans are great case fans as AF stands for airflow and they run at higher speeds. SP fans are for static pressure or the push of air through an object in this case the radiator. EK Vardars, Corsair SP, and Riing fans are both engineered for static pressure.

MCDS 1 point 38 months ago

Did you use the soft tubes for for the custom loop?

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

Yes i did, primochill tubing.

MCDS 1 point 38 months ago

Cool, thanks

GentlemanShark 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

How'd you make the backplate?

Inferno331 1 point 35 months ago

I know this is really late. But quick question, are you water cooling the ram?

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 35 months ago

No problem and yes the ram is watercooled.

Gresamurai7 1 point 35 months ago

Hey. Where can my friend buy this? It's not in your shop :)

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 34 months ago

Hello, please email me as this is a custom design.

mcouvertier@altex.com

Thanks :)

leon99 1 point 30 months ago

Hey I cant seems to be able to access your links.. do you have a guide video to your build or something similar? Thanks :) This will be my first time building a liquid cooled pc

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 30 months ago

Hey sorry, I left my previous employer so AION was shut down. I now handle it myself. What questions do you have?

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 29 months ago

Hey,

i don't but can help you with any questions you have. Do you have your parts already?

leon99 1 point 27 months ago

I am staying in Singapore so had some difficulties in getting the Inwin 909. Here is the parts I am planning to use: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BJgqr7 . I am trying to create something like yours. I could really use some of your advice. Thanks man

leon99 1 point 27 months ago

Hi are you still there

OwSo101 1 point 29 months ago

Great build but I tried to reach you link but it re directs me 'this page called 'onlinehime.us' anyone got any ideas?

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 29 months ago

Unfortunately in no longer with my current employer so the site is down. I'm currently handling things on my own

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 29 months ago

sorry the site is no longer live. If you have any questions feel free to message me :)

Bigwallawalla 1 point 28 months ago

Hi, just wondering because I'm thinking of basically using this build apart from replacing the 980TI's with a 1080; is there anything that wouldn't be needed from the list if going from 2 video cards to 1?

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

No, nothing additional is needed. You would just not purchase the terminal block and additional gpu block/backplate

Bigwallawalla 1 point 28 months ago

would you say that two 980ti's are better or just one 1080 because I'm still not certain

AION-MC submitter EKWB 18 Builds 1 point 28 months ago

No, one card is always better than two for real world tasks. SLI support is still shaky in game and what not.

Bigwallawalla 1 point 28 months ago

Regarding this whole thing, do you still have a shop where I can configure a whole pc

Noire58 1 point 21 months ago

How do your mounted the reservoir/pump?
