Description

This PC is my wife's build that she picked out all the parts by herself. She has no PC building experience and knowledge. It was fun building this PC with her or I should say, just watched and gave her pointers when she was stuck. But overall, I think she did really well and her PC build is probably better than mine lol and that's absolutely fine with me. We were both console gamers and have always wanted to transition into PC gaming, and now it has happened. We plan to eventually upgrade our monitors and TVs to be able to handle our PCs but for now what we have is perfectly fine for us.

Nice build and great choice of parts for her not knowing much about PC's. The royal RAM seems a little expensive in comparison to the other parts but it's still really nice. Any reason you went with SP fans for the 3 exhausts at the top instead of a higher air flow model? I know they are more expensive but I think the LL120 RGB would have looked sick in that build with all the white accents. They have a little better CFM but they are also a little louder but the better airflow would be nice but the look of them would have been awesome in this build. I am not knocking the build as I think it looks great but just asking if there was a specific reason I don't know since they would have tied into the theme better. +1 for an awesome and clean build.

I'm not going to lie to you, if I would have known about those white ones, I would have suggested to my wife to buy them even if the price is higher

Yeah, they're sweet. I bought 2 three packs with the controllers to do my next upgrade to my editing/gaming build. I think they are beautiful and the RGB is amazing on these. I also got the Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB white kit which is also white with the same RGB and looks great. I love the build but I think if you went with the Vengeance Pro RGB in white you could have gotten the same speeds and RGB but saved some money and used the price difference to get the LL120's and the RAM and fans would have matched the rest of the build better and you wouldn't have lost any performance with the RAM and gained airflow with the fans while having it match the rest of the build. It's a great PC though so you should be happy with it either way since you have a great balance of components and it looks as great as I am sure it performs.

I would recommend the Samsung 970 EVO Plus when you have the funds. It is one of the fastest NVMe drives out there and is also one of the more affordable. It's not the cheapest but it performs up there better than the 970 Pro in every category except Sequential Read Speeds where they are both 3,500 MB/s. It beats the Pro by 900 MB/s in Sequential Write Speeds, 110,000 IOPS in Random Read Speeds and 50,000 IOPS in Random Write Speeds. The main difference is the endurance. They both come with a 5 year warranty but the Pro is also rated at 600 TBW where the EVO Plus is only 300 TBW. That is based on the 500GB and 512GB models. The 1TB models are also double the TBW from the Pro over the EVO Plus. That is a ton of data though so unless you are using it in a professional setting where you are constantly moving data I don't see it being an issue. The 500GB EVO Plus is usually around $120-130 but I just picked one up at my Micro Center open boxed for $87. Still has the manufacturers warranty and a 30-day return policy but it seems to be working great so far. Worth every penny.
