This build was for my Grandma. After about 6 years her old HP machine was starting to die and the hard drive was showing signs of failure. So I made her this to store all her crochet files and pictures. At the same time she plays minecraft and her old HP was unable to play after the 1.9 update . So far it has been great, it runs ubuntu 15.1 and does not struggle at all with minecraft. The only problems I had were with the old HP. It does not allow dual drives, and the drive will not boot windows with the new machine, meaning we had a b**** of a time getting her old files off of the machine. And we're not just talking about crotchet patterns, she had some important financial data and personal data that was HP encrypted to not go to any other machine. WTF HP? the drive was about to fail and we could not take off the files, so I had to have a hell of a time with HP and getting the drive to give up its secrets.
Opted for an SSD for faster boot up and opening of apps. no regrets works great.
The cable management was great for the power supply wires. but the wires for the front panel really crowd the optical drive and had no where to hide so they are the only wires you can see, also really crowded around the powersupply and optical drive wires.
