Cable management is like spaghetti :-(

Try routing the cables behind the case.

X4 970 to fx 6300 is a very minor upgrade. I had a x4 955 at 4.3ghz and it destroyed the fx single core perf

He is right the 970 is better single core then the 6350/6300, I honestly don't know why amd tanked so bad onfx chips, the phenoms where a legit option vs the 2500k but oh well until zen comes and it better not tank cause I've passed up some great deals on a i7 setup :(

I ended up getting the 860k. the 970 was the bottleneck. the gpu is performance level.

hi, long time no talk. it was the phenom ii 960t not 970. every time I overclock to 6 cores it crashes. so I barely overclock it. I went to system requirements can it play crys something says the 860k is better. I notice it to while I game. the am3 something socket doesn't have upgrades so I had to swap some things around. I am still using all the parts in my other builds so no waste. the old case it was in was messed up and used when I got it so I wanted to change it. overall the improvement were satisfactory. I feel the phenom 960 was lacking something and i'm happy with the changes.

Honestly, upgrading a Phenom II X4 to an FX series processor, really isn't that worth it. It would have made more sense to use the money for something else like a GPU, or save till you can replace everything, because there aren't many CPUs with your socket type that would make a worth while upgrade.
