Description

  • I recently saw black golden builds, but just a few. Wondering why this combination isn't been doing that often, because it looks very nice, I decided to try one.
  • Designed it first with many pictures of the components by putting them together with PaintShop, to see how things would work and color scheme would look like and decide which parts to paint.
  • Only thing here is that the airflow could be optimized. But putting the radiator in the top mounting bracket doesn't look good to me. When doing so, I could mount three of the Corsair AF120 in the front, what causes a much better airflow.
  • Now there is only one AF in the bottom front (controlled by GPU temperature) and two SP above for the radiator. The three AF in the top are just starting to spin when CPU or GPU temperature is above a certain point. The AF140 on the back is spinning with 28% (323 rpm) and goes up regarding the GPU temperature as well.
  • GPU is 70°C max., 35° C idle.
  • CPU package is 55° C max, 23° C idle.
  • I painted all the heatsinks on the mainboard, H100iv2 and radiator apllications, fan rings, thumb screws and mainboard screws, front panel of the graphics card and topper aluminium bridges of the DDR4.
  • Removed the white stickers on the DDR4.
  • The cable extensions are from Silverstone (8- and 6-pin) and BitFenix (24-pin).
  • Exchanged the PCI slot covers with GELID Solutions PCI Slot incl. Filter and added TOLKO® ORGANZA black fabric to them for more filtering abilities
  • TOLKO® ORGANZA black fabric added to the complpete front filter
  • And the SSD cover is a custom made one by ColdZero.eu.

I'm diggin the color scheme, wanted to go with a burnt copper and black myself. I do custom auto painting/airbrushing and have some left over chameleon paint. might do a chameleon job on the pc with it to match my ride if the burnt copper scheme sucks.

  • 3 points

A burnt copper scheme sounds good. I saw a kind of tribute to Doom-build with rusty rocks completely self made ... But for the moment I'm satisfied with my build! ;)

Wow this is GOLD! I've never seen such a golden display from hours of fine work, blood, sweat, and gold. The cable management is golden, the gold painted parts are golden (literally), even the PSU is Gold! As in 80+ Gold. Fantastic Build man, Pure Gold :D.

FEATURE THIS!

Lol, I'm on a Celeron N2830, this thing can't handle my needs. I use Ableton Live 9 every week it can't handle what I need to do with it. Luckily, my brother has a decent laptop, that can handle it. But it's nothing like having your own.

I like the colors and componants but why the plain white LEDs and not a yellow/gold?

  • 1 point

I tried a warm white LED stripe. But that was way too bright. Now stuck with that NZXT sleeved LEDs ... I already thought about purchasing them in orange. But they are just looking too much orange.

A stunning build! :D But that GPU sag has always bothered me, it makes me nervous. You'd think case manufacturers would make the expansion slots more reinforced? Or maybe the GPU can come with some nifty little tri-pod lol

  • 2 points

Yeah, it pretty much bothered me, seeing the card is hanging like 5 mm down on the right edge ... But it seems to be very stable though. Tripod could do it (lol) but the only possibility somehow could be a PCIe slot expansion.

Nice to see the way you secured your AIO lines above the RAM as to be seen in its entirety. I plan to do the same with my Kraken X62 lines once my new RGB RAM shows up next week. Good job on the build as well!

  • 1 point

Yeah, but the lines of the Kraken seem to be more flexible then mine. It might be possible to have them just hanging down below the RAM like so.

  • 1 point

It may work either way for me, but I think I prefer the lines to go above, as it looks much cleaner out of the way of the motherboard as in your case.

  • 1 point

And the SSD cover is a custom made one by ColdZero.eu.

Thanks so much, SanDisk. Thanks for putting the SanDisk sticker on the 'bottom' and the information on the 'top'.

  • 1 point

Such an awesome setup. Diggin' the color scheme too! +1

  • 1 point

Thanks a lot! You got a very nice Setup as well! And you made it with the Radiator on the top ... Should be better for air flow from the front since you're running SLI! ;)

  • 1 point

Funny that you should mention that since I'm planning on changing that hahaha. Like you I also hope to improve airflow and temp.

  • 1 point

If you're satisfied with the looking, don't change it. Since the most newer VGAs are blowing into the case instead pushing warm air outside, you'll need a better airflow all over inside.

  • 1 point

this makes yellow look so nice (I hate the color yellow) and how did you make it so clean...

  • 1 point

Shouldn't look like yellow, but with any LEDs on it's difficult to still get it looking gold ... ;)

  • 1 point

That cable management and the colour! WOW. Good job

  • 1 point

Did you custom paint some of these parts? It looks really nice. I'm not sure if the mouse was worth it, it's twice as expensive as the keyboard, but still, great, amazing looking build. May it live long and run Crysis

  • 1 point

Thanks a lot! Yes, like mentioned in the description, I painted heatsinks on the mainboard, H100iv2 and radiator apllications, fan rings, thumb screws and mainboard screws, front panel of the graphics card and topper aluminium bridges of the DDR4. That mouse is really great imo! I got it on a cyber monday for around 70,- bugs, and yes, worth the price! ;)

  • 1 point

What kinda of paint did you use for this?

  • 1 point

I used a rim spray from German manufacture plus grounding/filler.

  • 1 point

Man that is such a clean build and unique color scheme. You did a really good job

  • 1 point

Build honestly looks amazing and I don't know why but the Enthoo Evolv just makes the build look better than it would in an S340 or H440 or another common case. I haven't seen this color scheme done before but it looks really good and I think the custom painted parts were just the icing on the cake. I'm glad you didn't go for a custom loop as it would maybe look cooler, but I feel as you're going for a mostly black with gold accents, a gold custom loop would be a pain in the *** to mix the colors [I don't think they make a gold fluid]. I only have one question though

What type of paint did you use for painting the parts? I was thinking about painting some of my parts as well.

  • 1 point

Yeah, a golden custom loop with goldish liquid would be too much. Just black and bended shiny tubes with black liquid and some custom painted parts on the block and golden fittings would fit here, I think. But I couldn't find a block which matches such requirements.

I used a rim spray from German manufacture plus grounding/filler.

Can you please put NZXT Hue in that case and send pics????? BTW: I love my PG348Q, great choice. Consider getting the ergotech arm for it!

  • 1 point

At the moment, I'm not planning to put the HUE+ in there. But that thing would be a great choice, especially on such difficult light reflecting colors like gold. Hmm... Maybe! So if, I will post pictures! ;)

  • 1 point

More bumblebee than classy gold.. Love the build though

  • 1 point

Shouldn't look like yellow, but with any LEDs on it's difficult to still get it looking gold ... ;) Especially on Photographs. On fotographs you're always getting other colors, than in real world.

hey!! how did you spray paint your cooler without hurting the led light?

  • 1 point

Again sorry for the late reply ... I didn't painted around or so. I've tested the translucency attributes of the spray on an acrylic glass. With three thin layers there is a good coverage and the LED paper still shines through very well. Even with the block's LED set to red or green is still authentic in color.
