I wanted to do a white and black build for a while now and have been working on this nzxt source 220 window case. first I wanted to have three fans in the front so I decided to completely start from scratch and remove the existing front from the case and build it back up from there.
I retained the original I/O plate with the usb and usb 3, headphone, and mic that have been relocated to the top of the case. The power and reset buttons are vandal switches ( this took me a little studying to figure out the wiring on these), no HDD activity led though as I thought I was ordering the vandal with the dot and instead i purchased the solid black vandal.
The coolant Mayhem Pastel White, The reservoir 190mm cylinder water tank + SC600 pump and is found here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/190mm-cylinder-water-tank-SC600-pump-all-in-one-set-Maximum-flow-600L-H-computer-water/32225238339.html the reservoir was so close to the top I had to add a pass-through bulkhead fitting along with an extension G1/4 to the top of the reservoir so it could be filled. The Loop can be drained via the drain port at the bottom radiator which is a 240mm rad, all black fittings were added except 2 G 1/4 plugs one for the fill port and the other for the drain port. The cpu water block is Bykski found here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Bykski-CPU-water-cooling-block-mico-water-way-liquid-block-shining-LED-A-MD-version-BYCY04/32334854525.html
Bottom acrylic shield
since I had to remove the original hard drive cage I shortened it to just 2 slots and it is housed under the bottom shield along with the power supply, The shield I created was I learning curve but turned out great, it can be removed easily giving access to the psu and hdd/sdd location, this shield is lit via 2 led strips .
3 120mm white bladed fans for front, 2 nzxt 120mm fans on top for exhaust, and 1 enermax 120mm duo fan in the rear, just a note the nzxt fan took me about a month to find one since it is out of production, I found 2 places that showed they had that fanand both places after placing an order with them they ended up backordering them and i had to cancel the orders, this fan came from frozencpu.
here is the build log for this build with a total of around 60 pictures http://www.overclock.net/t/1566818/nzxt-source-220-case-mod-build
note before everyone starts asking me why water cool such a medium range gaming pc, I did this because it looks sweet! that's all, using budget parts. the misconceptions about water cooling a budget I dont understand, so if its a budget save that watercooling money and put it towards a better gpu is a valid point, but wanted a sweet looking loop which also is comprised of budget parts!
I will be changing out the power supply after everyone saying that this is the worst ever psu I could have but in this build. I have an evga flower made psu that is 750 watts modular but don't want to put it in this budget build so I will pick something up this week.
thanks for looking
