Build

Compact Cobalt Computer (17 year old's two-year update)

by gantzypants

Description

Hi PCP community! I have had this built for a while but just recently got some fans and the kraken. I aimed to make as clean a build as possible, but it had to be blue. I use it pretty much exclusively for gaming. I also have my switch, xbox, and wii hooked up to my monitors to make my ultimate gaming setup. My computer has come a long way and is a lot more comfortable to work in now that it is in a H400i instead of a Hadron Air.

Leave some questions below and I will be sure to answer them as soon as possible! Thanks for checking my build out!

Part Reviews

CPU

Found a great deal ($325) at my local micro center. Super fast, and I love how it feels I own a piece of history.

CPU Cooler

Really quiet, looks great, I just wish that the cable management was a little easier. Keeps my cpu under 50 at all times.

Motherboard

Also found a great deal ($120) at my local micro center. Love the right angle connectors, makes it much cleaner. I just wish there was an io cover for a cleaner look. Rgb would have been nice as well.

Memory

It’s blue, and it’s memory. Other than the SSD this is the only part from my 2015 build because it was only $80 back then. Those were the days!

Video Card

Quiet, looks great, massive, blue lights, what else could I want? Everything is maxed at 144 FPS at 1080p. The sag is a little annoying but other than that this card is awesome.

Case

Dare I say, the perfect mATX case? Blue, clean, compact, amazing cable management, and I even got the smart hub to work!

Dude, how is the GPU getting air if you got nothing but exhaust fans? Just saying.

Hi, about how much space is left between the GPU and front fans? I've been thinking of this build myself and I have a 1070 that measures 300mm so it's going to just fit.
