Description

So I upgraded to a x299 platform after having some issues with my previous system. Most of these parts I already had and the only "new" parts are the case, Cpu, Motherboard, and the power supply. I wanted to keep the same purple color scheme and I was going to have bits of blue in it although i changed it to all purple to keep it simple.

CPU: For the processor I wanted to go with the x299 platform because I wanted to try an "Enthusiast" platform and I was originally going to get the 7900x instead of the 7940x but Microcenter did not have one at either store in my state, and Fry's Electronics said they had one and canceled my order over night. Although I'm not upgrading my pc until after I graduate college and once I move in with my boyfriend.

GPU: For the GPU I reused my 1080ti Aorus Xtreme card because at the time I did not want to wait for the 20 series nor am I upgrading to a 2080ti at any point.

Motherboard: For the motherboard I was limited to a Matx board and I decided to get the EVGA Micro because it is an amazing motherboard and the reason I did not get the Micro 2 was that I decided to not pay 100 more dollars for better rgb support or better vrm cooling since I am not going to overclock that much (or at all maybe).

Storage: Ok, this was a cluster of parts because I do not really like having parts lay around in boxes, and I did not want to wait to redownload all my games and files. The 960 Evo is my boot drive, and all the other ssd's are for games and other files. The HDD was because I was originally going to have that and a 2tb Hdd that I was going to reuse but I could not fit both into the case because there was not that much room for cable management so I used the spot that it would have gone in for more cable space.

Case: For the case I wanted to go with something that I have not really seen in most places and a friend recommended me look at Parvum Systems. I fell in love with the R1 when I saw it and the inverted motherboard tray was perfect for me because my pc is on the left side of my desk. I went with black and purple for the colors because I felt like it was a good color combination and I felt black was more subtle over white with purple. The case is entirely made out of acrylic and it supports 2 360mm radiators in the "basement" of the case.

PSU: For the Psu I was originally going to reuse my g2 750 watt and cables but I had to get a smaller psu to fit in the case.

Watercooling: All of the parts I ordered from Performance-PCs and I decided to go with EKWB parts because I have had no issues with them. However the Phanteks Gpu block I reused from my previous system because I did not want to spend more money on a new block instead of reusing it. Yes this system has a mix of Hardlined and Soft tubing because as this is my first time using hard tubing I was not going to try to bend the tubing or use more adapter fittings to have it come up from the radiator to the reservoir. I went with Koolance for the coolant because I wanted to have a nice looking coolant without having to mess with it and have it last for a long time.

Peripherals: Blackwidow Chroma v2 Logitech G602 Wireless mouse Steelseries Arctis 7 Headset AT 2020 Microphone Behringer Mixer, This is so I can have my record player, tv, and consoles as well as my microphone go into one board and have everything come into my headphones.

Great build, too bad the light strip is so bare

Yea, I probably could've used a cablemod strip but I figured since I already had a phanteks halo and the controller I might as well use their strip so it matches
