Description

The hardest part of this was getting as much of it as possible in white. All of the corsair fans had to be stripped of the black insulated wiring and replaced with white heat shrink tubing. I then ordered custom white stickers from Amazon to replace the black corsair logos. The white thumb screws on the PCI slots were spray painted (which I don't recommend). I had a mish mosh of white screws, parts from other cases and almost the complete kit from https://www.coldzero.eu/corsair-crystal-570x-case-parts/ including their GPU back plate. I have 27C idle case temps and 33 idle CPU temps. When gaming the GPU doesn't go over 60C. The GOT figures in the case make no difference at all with temps. This was a really fun build as I worked with many decal vendors from Etsy to get it just right. There are 7 Corsair ll120's running off 1 Corsair Commander and 2 lighting node pros. I have a 4 pin splitter to get the 7th fan to power on. Doing an all white build or as much I possible could was really a challenge! I don't think I'll ever do it again. The cable comb is from Mod-One.

It'll take too long, just pick up a $4000 powerhouse industrial pressure washer, overclock it to 30L/min and blast the living daylights out of it. A drop of paste, 4 screws down and bobs your uncle (don't forget to plug in the fan)

The "Winter is COMING" saying is really funny since you're built the PC in Canada

  • 2 points

I live in NJ. It says I built the PC in Canada?

  • 1 point

Oh my bad. Since I saw the list in CAD I thought you built it in Canada.

Winter is coming and here in Canada temps get low as -40℃. So I thought this build MUST be a Canadian build. All good tho.

Lol -40 is insane! The GTX 1080 gets broiling hot so I guess that would help!

  • 1 point

It is!

Hahaha it does. When it starts throttling, we'll just pick up the pc and put it outside. Should keep everything under 30℃ under load

Winter has come! This build is very awesome! I love the colors and the tasteful RGB lighting. How are you liking your Trident Z Royal?

  • 1 point

It's really fast, it set to advertised 3600mhz speeds with one mobo tweak. Any other rgb ram would have given me no clearance to fit the CPU fans. I have less than a milimeter there! The rgb is gorgeous on it's and extremely bright. It was a Samsung B Die. The packaging is gorgeous and just awesome in person.

Speaking of packaging, was there anything special in the packaging/boxing that lets you know you purchased Trident Z Royal memory, as opposed to just the regular Trident Z memory?

Just fancy black box with the words "royal" on it. The ram is gorgeous in person, mirror shine.

What did you do to white out the LL fans? Really want to change mine to be like yours

  • 1 point

First thing I did was gently remove the stickers and anti vibration pads on the sides they weren't being utilized. Then I cleaned off the area with Goo Gone (it's an adhesive remover). I removed the pin connectors on the ends of the pwm and rgb so I could feed the wires through white heat shrink tubing. I pushed the heat shrink tubing all the way down and then put round white stickers on the back part. I also removed the black stickers on the front of the fans too.

I used these stickers for the exhaust side of the fans:

Build looks great! I'm thinking of doing a very similar build, except going for an all black theme.

On that note, I have a question about your CPU cooler:

On Noctua's site, they say that the NH-U14S with the Chromax cover is 172mm tall. Corsair's website lists the maximum CPU cooler clearance height for the Crystal 570X at 170mm.

Did you have to make any modifications to get the CPU cooler to fit with the Chromax cover? Or did it simply fit with no issues and Corsair is just being conservative with the numbers listed on their website?

With the glass side cover on it's REALLY close almost touching. It does fit, I can confirm for you how much clearance when I get home. Thanks for the support!

What a stunning build. Did you have any problem fitting the 140 fans to the U14S Cooler? I read that the stock fan has different mount spacing.

I actually have 7, I made a mistake there in the list. I have to remove one of those packs. Why do I need 7? Because it looks cool, 12 would be even better.
