Part Reviews

CPU

Bought in 2011, this is the 95W version (not 125W). Good price/performance at that time. For now I didn't need more computing power, so I'm not going to change my beloved Phenom anytime soon. (maybe Ryzen 4c/4t 65W for reducing wattage consumption)

CPU Cooler

I like how this cooler look and cooling performance is far greater than stock cooler, so It's all good.

Motherboard

I own the A780L3B version but at pcpartpicker I couldn't find it. But this A780L3G is simmilar enough. 2 reason why I choose this motherboard, it's affordable and simple. (pricing is weird in my country Indonesia, motherboard priced almost twice the US price)

Memory

Also the same reason like motherboard. It's affordable and simple.

Storage

It's for my OS and programs. So I bought small capacity HDD for it. For now it's still working fine. Will replaced this as soon as possible with a SSD for better computing experience.

Storage

Affordable solution for my storage.

Video Card

Just bought this on March 2017. I really like the design (size and appearance) and cooling performance of this card. No external power from power supply needed. I wish I know there's GTX 1050 non Ti version of this, I could save some money for later use. But It's already done so I accept it. Overall nice graphic cards to own.

Power Supply

I love fully modular power supply. Happy to finally own one. It really help with my build aesthetic and plenty power for my future need (currently using less than half wattage capacity)

Case Fan

I didn't remember the reason i bought this fan.

Monitor

Also bought this in 2011. Everything works just fine except for the HDMI input. It's not working, it detected by Windows but not displaying anything. So I'm using HDMI->VGA dongle for this build (picture quality dropped a little bit by this)

Keyboard

Bought used from some guy canceled on building PC. Really love the simplicity of this keyboard. Many macro feature and RED BACKLIGHTING!! My friend offered me $40 for this (pricing is weird in Indonesia) and I reject it. Because I love using it.

yeahh, Phenom for life !!

Still rocking a Phenom 9550 back here. W/O Overclocking it's still just keeping up.

Sadly though, unless Ryzen managed to hit right down budget and do well, I'm gonna be jumping boat to Kaby lake (for those pretty G4560's)

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

yes it is! I added some photo regarding this..

FlyinToasteronie 1 point 24 months ago

I won't believe it. Even if I se the actual specs, the manufacturing process and it running in a PC. That's just a "No" from me.

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

well, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_200_series, it exist too

Looks good... but considering the budget, it looks phenomenal.

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

I really confused by total budget i spent for this. Maybe it's because I upgraded one part at a time so it's compounding. Also thank you for the compliment..

Turn the drives around and wire them from the other side of the cages so you don't HAVE to see the wiring. Cover or remove the label from the Seasonic so the yellow doesn't clash, or paint all the red knobs and tabs yellow to match. (Then you only have to figure out what to do with the blue rear fan or the red ones upfront.) Other than that, nice job keeping the Phenom outta the landfill.

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

Yeah I'm going try to do that reverse wiring thingy and I will cover the lable with black sticker later. Never thought any of this, thanks for the suggestion. This Phenom will stay with me a little longer :D.

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

I just did what u suggest me and I like the outcomes. (except for that Seasonic yellow label, i didn't have the sticker yet.)

Shall I ask the question on many viewers minds? Why a Phenom?

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

I just reviewed all my parts, sorry for confusing you guys. It's my original processor since 2011 and I didn't need more computing performance, so I won't replace it anytime soon.

Kevidimus 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago

"Didn't need more computing performance." My friend you are one of the most selfless people on this list, not 2 hours ago I saw a guy that had done a fresh 2-GTX 1070 + 6700k build and in the title it had said upgrades coming soon, like where do you realistically go from there? lol

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

Yeah most games I played didn't really need more CPU power so It's fine for me. It depends on the person, maybe he needed a liitle bit more CPU power and he thinks it is worth the upgrades.

Sharnerean 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

Those phenoms are beastly. I have a friend rocking a phenom x6 and Its still gaming like a champ.

lokee submitter 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

yeah Phenom is great, especially if overclocked :D
