Description

My own personal rig. Have built many pc's over the last 15 years but the last pc I built for myself was in 2011. This build was way overdue.

Unable to play many of the latest games and with cyberpunk 2077 coming soon this build was aimed at that.

Everything installed easily with no issues and very stable, currently downloading steam library to benchmark.

Loaded on first boot, windows installed within minutes and XMP profile loaded and running at 3200.

Part Reviews

CPU

Runs well, temps are good and boot first time with tomahawk max. Brilliant speed and performance for the price.

CPU Cooler

Keeps the ryzen 3600 at around 30 degrees idle and barely double that under load. Looks good too.

Motherboard

Pairs well with ryzen 3600, booted first time. Probably the best b450 board out there. Would recommend to anyone wanting newer ryzen on a budget.

Memory

The rgb is so bright, puts everything else to shame in the case haha. Works flawlessly and xmp loaded and running at 3200

Video Card

Waited for the right time to build a new rig and with the 5700xt release now is the right time. Went with the reference card as I prefer the sleek look. Temperatures not an issue at the moment as I've undervolted with the supplied wattman software and all is working brilliantly.

Case

Looks great, ample space and brilliant for cable management. The slight clouded glass is just the style I was looking for. Shows just enough in the day time and loads more under low light. Have recommended this case many times.

Power Supply

Got put off from this PSU because of its age but it's working flawlessly with plenty of voltage to spare. It's not a cheap unit for its age but sometimes you have to go with your gut feeling.

Headphones

Great sound, comfortable and the cable is super long. A++

Custom

Makes the difference over the standard black cables that normally get shipped with psu's. Good quality and love the colour.

Custom

Ive had this keyboard since its release, has been my gaming companion over the years and was 1 part that remained. Still works and looks brilliant. Won't be replacing it anytime soon.

Custom

Managed to get this screen on offer for Β£65. What can I say it looks brilliant and it's curved. Specs are not the best but games look vibrant and colourful.

Love love love this rig. I like the correlation with the tomahawk and native american. my mamas people the Cherokee 10/10 but where did the samurai come from, is that a quote I missed from CP2077

It's not a direct line from cyberpunk, the official line was a bit more harsh. "Wake the **** up samurai" just made it a little more user friendly haha

Jealous that you managed to get a Tomahawk MAX. But the build looks awesome so I'll let it slide +1

That is one amazing build, I love that you showcased of the Radeon 5700XT, I am never too sure about the build quality of AMDs GPUs because I've never bought one and I'm not sure if their drivers are as reliable as the Nvidia drivers.

I've used amd gpu's for a while and they have never let me do. So far the drivers have been ok with the 5700xt

those must be the lowest temps I have ever seen on a ryzen 5 3600. With all the people complaining about it running hot, especially on idle, you must be very lucky.

Even with amd's precision boost overclocking the processor to 4.1ghz the most I'll get at idle is 33-35 degrees and the exact same temperature of 55-58 degrees under load. General pc use like YouTube and Photoshop tends to range between 40-50 degrees depending how much I'm running πŸ‘

*updated the images. Second image shows running idle temp with slight overclock

Wow this build looks almost the same to one i'm planning to build. The only difference is the card, what is Nvidia 2060 super and I also can't wait to get Cyberpunk when that comes out as well. Anyways great build!

Same here, can't wait for cyberpunk. Your build with the 2060 will be awesome. Good luck with it πŸ‘

Amazing build! I am planning one almost exactly the same, swapping motherboard to the Tomahawk MAX but I'm indifferent about losing a NVME slot. You recommend using the NVME for startup and then a different SSD for storage of everything else? I'm brand new to PC Building.

My boot time with an NVME and an SSD is pretty much the same so i use an NVME drive for my steam library and an SSD for boot. i get about 15 seconds boot time.
