Hey Guys, My name is Taha and I'm 15 years old.
I have been planning this build for a good couple of months, starting off with a £800 budget, and before anybody says it. No my parents didn't pay for the parts, I spent my so called "live savings" on it, I also had to work really hard to gain the funds. I had to work night shifts at my Mum's Bakery over the summer and had to sell my Dad's spare car parts on eBay (with his permission of course.) But anyway I enjoyed building it as I have always been very fond of Computer software and hardware.
The Build is mainly for Gaming and Editing, and this build is supposed to be future proofed for daily computing and gaming. Some could say that this is a HUGE upgrade from my old laptop and PC. (PC: AMD Athlon 64 x2, 2gigs of RAM, unknown GPU, Laptop: 4gigs of RAM AMD E-350, built in graphics.)
Title: I picked this out from a song, if anybody actually listen to PTM on here, I will love you forever. Also I thought it would match because of the Razer Sticker and Razer mouse in the build :).
CPU: Works very very well, never experienced speed like this before especially during editing! There was a time when I thought about going for the higher end AMD CPUs, but due to their temps and the cooling needed to cool the CPU, I'm glad I didn't.
CPU Cooler: Cools like a champ! My laptops idle temps where around 60 degrees Celsius... And that was the norm for me, but for this I've never seen the temps go over 35 degrees in idle, Will definitely be Overclocking in the near future. And I was also very worried about installing this cooler because I didn't really research it well and thought that I'd get stuck whilst building it. But it turned out to be easier to install than the stock cooler.
Mobo: This motherboard is by far the most beautiful motherboard that I have ever seen, beats the multi-coloured looking crap that I saw inside my old PC when I had to remove the CD-Drive temporarily. Will be cross firing in this mobo in a couple more months when the funds and permission from my Dad is there.
Memory: I had upgraded my Laptop's RAM to 8 gigabytes and it was not sufficient (I also had to sell those 8 gigs and use the stock 4 gigs on my laptop for money for the New build.) 16 gigabytes is good enough for my editing, gaming and my horrible habit of having tens of tabs open. Will be upgrading to 32 gigs in the far future.
Storage/s: SSD: Oh my lord. This is amazing, I only have half of it left for important programmes. But it loads my OS withing 8 seconds and I turn my computer on and off just to witness it! It's amazing and I have no idea why I haven't ever bought one before!! HDD: Haven't had time to mess with this, pretty much there for most of my programmes and downloads, aswell as the thousands of pictures from family gatherings and stuff. 1 TB, sounds good to me.
GPU: This Gpu runs everything!! Never experienced any game on Ultra or medium for that matter and Ultra on games are amazing <3 . This GPU looks beautiful and runs everything on Ultra no problem, BF3 100fps+, Theif 100fps+, Hitman Absolution 100fps+, you get the message, and when I do crossfire this animal I can't imagine it's power!
Case: Not only is it really clean and simple (which makes it look sexy in my opinion) It also has neat fan filters and is fairly quite when it wants to be. Building in it was amazing and cable management holes were very useful. Would recommend and build in it again!
Right, so 1k watt for crossfire in the future. One thing that really, really, really pissed me off was the short CPU cable. I can't route it through the back, because I can't twist it to put it in the socket. So I had to just connect it regularly, and now I'm disgusted to look through my panel. Other than that no problems, all the other cables routed through the back perfectly, also comes with a lot of cables which is pretty neat!
Keyboard: Oh my Lord. Mechanical keyboards are the ****!! I love this keyboard so much, The backlight is amazing, and the Cherry MX Brown keys are perfect for me for typing and gaming. I will never go back to regular keyboards, and I might even bring this keyboard to my Computer Science lessons!
Mouse: It was between this or the ROCCAT Kone XTD, and the Deathadder is amazing! I use it for editing, gaming and web browsing and the adjustable DPI is great! I've never used a gaming mouse before and by the reviews I'm guessing I probably have the best one on the market! The programmable buttons are useful and the glowing snakes are orgasmic!
Monitor: This monitor is pretty good, it's bigger than the monitor I use to play on my PS4, but I've moved onto the Master Race and I haven't touched my PS4 since. The images are sharp on the monitor and I've never actually connected a PC to a monitor through any other video cable other than a VGA. Loving the monitor so far!
Any questions? Leave them below :)
Bought IC Diamond Thermal compound as the temps were running at 40 degrees Idle.
Routed the CPU cable through the back, by stretching it and using the closer cable management hole.
