Description

///////////////////////////////10/10/18////////////////////////////////////////// So I started this build on the idea that it was going to be heavily customization and up gradable. Attempting to build with around a $550 US budget. The Ryzen 5 2600 is the best bang for your buck cpu of the era with its hexa core design along with core clocks and voltages unlocked for future overclocking. The Gigabyte b450 pro wifi is the only wifi included b450 mobo on the market. I haven't the slightest what the rev. 1 means as there isn't a rev 2. The rgb on the heat shrouds add a nice aesthetics and depending who you ask (adds performance). The Patroit Viper Memory is a nice kit running at 3000mhz plenty to feed my ryzen chip. The RAM brings me to the first planned 'upgrade' buying another 8gb kit for a total of 16gb filling all slots on my mobo. The kingston 120 gb drive will be for boot purposes and the hdd is a filler for one I pulled from an old channel master dvr. The drive serves as a steam drive and program hub and i hope to add another drive as the hdd is already filling up. The MSI gt 710 isn't meant for playing shadow of the tomb raider but running my display and playing light titles such as csgo and ck2. This will be upgraded with hopefully to a gtx 1050 ti or 1060 3 or 6 gb depending on sale prices. The focus g is a beautiful case with lot's of fan space and soft edges. The only complaints I have it is the lack of a psu shroud and front io but neither is deal breaking. Finally the Antec Earthwatts Gold rated power supply was semi modular so, I was left with a few extra pcie power slots. The upgradibilty was crucial in this build so I have a list of parts to upgrade ///////////////////////////////11/25/18////////////////////////////////////////// I've purchased a MSI GTX 1070Ti Duke edition which will fit nicely inside my case and be supported by my power supply. I received a pleasant deal over black friday in which I got it for $385 US plus a $30 rebate.

~~1. GPU to a at best 1060 6gb hopefully~~

~~2~~ 1.RAM to a second kit for a total of 16gb

~~3~~ 2.Storage to a 1tb ish drive perfereibly an ssd gonna be a sata connection most likely.

~~4~~ 3.CPU cooling to a closed loop factory water cooler with radiator

~~5~~ 4. Case fans add at least two maybe more depending on mobo headers

5. A fan controller simply for aesthetics

6. CPU to a ryzen 7 ~~dont know if there will be a 3700 or 4700 or if theres any am4 chips sfter ryzen 2nd gen who knows?~~

Sry for the bad pic quality As of writing gpu hasn't arrived so I cant update on that. Also I haven't the slightest on the formating of the upgrading list

How was the WiFi on this mobo,I am planning on getting it.

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I have it around 20 feet from my router and I get a very nice reception there

if theres any am4 chips sfter ryzen 2nd gen who knows?

I'm just confirming for them.

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

thanks that fills me with hope of more longevity for the system

ssjg5rlly 1 point 2 months ago

yis. hopefully you get a new gpu soon my guy :D

flamingtaco2006 1 point 2 months ago

I didn't 'buy' the hdd so it wasn't a priority to get a bigger one and a larger ssd is already on the plan for buying

No the clash of colors

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

the color clash is real but since i hadn't recieved the package yet for the gpu i could change the rgb on the mobo

Phildilf 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I don't think it was necessary to even post that picture. You can't see anything lol.

Based on the components, it's a nice budget build with room for growth. Maybe more storage and a better gpu, but for now it'll run games on medium settings.

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

yep gpu is the current highest priority for upgrading and storage is probably only gonna change when it fills uo most likely

Get a RX 580 8gb instead of the 1060

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

at the time I chose a 1060 over the 580 due to stability and price but since then I've decided to instead think about the 1070 ti since the prices fell drastically

FiveSquared25 1 point 1 month ago

Okay then. 1080 is amazing

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

the 1070 ti better fits my price range rn but black friday is always going to be something im going to be looking at

FiveSquared25 1 point 1 month ago

Used is amazing.

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 1 month ago

im mildly afraid of used hardware since a large amount of current high end gpu's are cryptocurrency rejects and i like to have a warranty

I have a few questions about the mobo because I may be getting it. Is the wifi onboard wireless and is the signal strong? I am not completely sure whether I wanna go for this board or a different board and get a wireless wifi adapter. Sorry if these are newbie questions.

echoedlightning submitter 1 Build 1 point 12 days ago

its ok, but the premise for the mobo wifi is an oval magnetic base and a single antenna. that ataches over two cables connected the cable is longish. I haven't untie the cord dor it but it plugs directly in and sit on top of my pc the signal strength for me works really well for me but I to start with don't have that great of internet and you if you have quite strong internet might see slowdowns due to the limitations of wifi

therewherenonamesavialiibly 1 point 12 days ago

Aright thanks
