Description

I have bought a few Pre built PC's in the past but never actually attempted it myself so I thought lets give this a try. I started out by doing a heck of a lot of research and with a very limited budget Ebay became my best friend when buying most of my parts. It didn't start out as smooth as I planned however as I originally bought a MSI 990fxa gd80 Mobo and after I had finished putting everything together got the dreaded FF fault displayed on the board. So that got put away and I went out and bought a Asrock 970m Pro which in every way for me as a first time builder was a ton better with it being easier to understand which wires went where. Anyway all advise is welcome thank you.

PRICES:

ASROCK 970m Pro cost me £69 Brand New, FX4300 with stock cooler cost me £40 from Ebay (used), MSI GTX 750TI cost me £60 from Ebay (used), Harddrive cost me £12, Broken MSI 990xfa gd80 cost me £40 (used), EVGA 500w power supply cost me £38 brand new, Corsair Vengance Pro DDR3 1600 8gb RAM cost me £60 Brand new, CIT G Force RGB case cost me £50 Brand new

I will be upgrading my CPU in the near future and upgrading my case as I realize what a huge mistake it was to buy it now and personally want something a lot more smarter such as a NZXT S340 Elite.

Part Reviews

CPU

Doing the job perfectly fine I seen it come up cheap on Ebay and took the chance and so far is running all games with no problems.

Motherboard

My life saver after my other failed Mobo, Very easy to install and setup top marks from me.

Memory

Does what it says could possibly have saved money here but it was a there and then moment in the store with the RAM being the last thing left to build this system.

Storage

Such a bargain at £12! I will be buying another soon enough to go alongside this one.

Video Card

Done a lot of research before choosing this card and when I seen it come up on Ebay for £60 I just had to have it and its been a match made in heaven ever since.

Power Supply

Looked around a lot and seen this was the go to budget PSU for a first time builder like myself it may have been easier to buy a Modular but this done just fine and no complaints so far from me.

Thank you! I dont play hugely demanding games so this setup is great for me ill probably get the most out of the AM3+ Mobo before going to anything more.

Must ask what is your view of the 8370 in your build? something like that or a 8350 would be my possible upgrade for my CPU.

IF you can get if for Cheap it would be an Ok upgrade from the FX 4300.

However to overclock, you need a Good CPU cooler, in my build I used Noctua NH-D 15 but this is expensive.

Personally the FX 8370 seem on par with 15-6400 and a bit behind the 15-6500.

IF you can OC the FX 8370 to around 4.7 to 5.0 you don't really have much problems with any games on high setting (not ultra).

Something to note you can wait for Ryzen which should be better on all accounts and this would lower prices on older FX chips such as 8350/8320/8370.

PS. 8350 and 8370 don't have much of a difference .
