Description

Hey PCPP Community,

Project Dynasty was initiated when I wanted to share the passion, and joy of PC gaming to my friends, families and wider relatives. As it is coming closer to 2018 Chinese New Year, I wanted to create an oriental red/gold themed build that will be passed around from friend, to neighbor, to family to enjoy playing games on the big TV to their desires during the festive period.

Build Overview

Cables used are the CableMod Modmesh Red Full PSU replacement cables. I really liked how they turned out, they are bright, vibrant and extremely high quality. They are complemented with gold cable combs.

Coolant and fittings are from EKWB, with their gold/blood red combo.

Waterblock is a EKWB Asus M8G monoblock that has been painted metallic red.

Heatsinks on the dominator platinum as well as rear PCIE brackets are all painted in metallic red. The light spread module inside the RAM has also been painted transparent amber.

Some acrylic pieces are used to complement the cable routing/cable management in an oriental pattern theme.

Part list prices have been updated to reflect the ORIGINAL RRP, most parts have been accumulated over the past few years.

mcmillian.matt 3 points 10 months ago

wow, the detail on this build is amazing!!!!!!!! Nice work! And it only cost $1017..lol

Eltech 20 Builds 5 points 10 months ago

Eh, pretty sure it was more than 1k. I do see AUD currency on the list and prices were not adjusted by the user just yet. And yes, amazing. ;)

mcmillian.matt 4 points 10 months ago

I know it was a joke..

Eltech 20 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Aha, gotcha. I'm not too good with jokes, especially on the internet.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Cheers! The price list is not accurate unfortunately, as some parts used are not available for purchase anymore, I will see what I can do to fix it up soon.

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

you can just manually input them on the parts list/build list

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Yep, fixed thanks! :)

Eltech 20 Builds 3 points 10 months ago

Very beautiful and amazing! Some words cannot describe it enough. My plus one jumped ahead of me.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully the end users (Friends/family/neighbours) would actually use it for what it is intended for, and not just hang it up for display haha.

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

You are most welcome. Oh my, it would be unfortunate if this was used as display only. Being used is what it's meant to be yet at the same time to appear lovely and appreciated.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

I'll have some nudging and convincing to do to ensure that happens ;)

Eltech 20 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Good. :)

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks! :)

SeverusR 1 Build 3 points 10 months ago

Super clean runs. Its obvious you were dedicated to this project. This is going to be featured 100%. +1

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you, it was definitely the fact that the build was going to be used by multiple people, that gave me the motivation.

TacoNinja 2 Builds 3 points 10 months ago

It was only a matter of time before this was featured +1!

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks for your support :)

SirHalpin 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

This is fantastic, a custom themed case mod in its glory. Everything is well done. The GPU backplate for a Titan X on a 980ti kinda threw me, but it's minor and barely noticeable. +1

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks! Haha the titan x Maxwell waterblock is trippy I agree. Back then I don't remember seeing dedicated 980 ti waterblocks from EK (or I was just blind), but the titan x was literally the same thing as the 980ti with the exception of a few more cuda cores and 6GB more vram, so the card was practically identical in waterblock compatibility.

Cheers! :)

SirHalpin 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

I figured it was something like this. Here's hoping the build gets featured~

skyrise 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

N.I.C.E.

I imagine it in yellow/golden, it would have been awesome too.

Congrats.

SebMonster1030 1 point 10 months ago

Or a green jade color.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Indeed, there are so many possibilities to execute an oriental theme. However I just had to pick one haha otherwise I would never be able to decide which one to go for.

Thanks again! :)

Jerome54 2 points 10 months ago

Future feature!! +1!

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks! :)

Radox-0 5 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Straight up yum. Very nice work , an easy +1

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

If it was edible, I wouldn't hesitate to take a bite out of it.

Cheers and thanks :)

westwandaguys 2 points 10 months ago

Nice! What GPU brace is that? It looks very sturdy.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks! Its an ASUS TUF series GPU anti sag support bracket that comes with selected TUF motherboards. I received mine from an x299 TUF Mark 1 board.

It is indeed, albeit a bit small compared to custom gpu braces, it is all metal and was definitely needed to prevent such a heavy waterblock on the gpu from sagging.

chief3630 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Just fantastic theme and attention to detail. Well done.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you glad you thought so :)

customgtp 21 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

I know you had fun designing this huh! Such a great big canvas to do whatever you want! Great job

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I certainly did! (the building part at least), the planning phase was a nightmare as I couldn't decide between the endless possibilities of an oriental theme. I had to finally force myself to go one route otherwise the build will still be sitting in my workshop untouched haha.

Thanks again! :)

vossalex 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Nice theme and great work.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

OfficialP90 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

You crushed it! +1 Holy crap man! Where do I start!?! This rig is showcased beautifully with high quality shots that you don't see every day on pcpp. The components in this artwork are semi-solid, I would say the only non-overkill part that everyone drools over is your gpu but I will give credit for intelligently using a gtx 900 series card in one of the most effective ways! An to top things off, your loop is mind boggling! That is the most perfect use of yellow/golden fittings I've ever seen to date! The mix of colors is also something to take note of, because WOW did you nail the theme down incredibly! All in all, this rig is exceptionally beautiful and is the core reason of why pcpp is around, to display wondrous works of power combined with art for the world to glorify! Just do me a favor, give yourself a nice big pat on the back, because my god do you deserve a lot of those! Have a great day & keep on building!!!

OfficialP90 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Also, damn, what a PSU. I like it lol

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I like it too, especially the anodized aluminium red top and tempered glass front. I hope in the future more PSUs can follow a similar trend.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you so much for your kind words! :) its great to be a part of the PCPP community because of the support and appreciation people display, words like yours keeps me motivated for future projects. Cheers!

meiling888 3 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

I love the way you have this layout. I was a bit confused on how the loop went but I see what you did with that bottom one. Very clever and clean. Love the colors!! Have you thought about using gold cooling liquid for next time?

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Thanks! Yeah originally I was planning to use primochill powder red vue or their yellow vue, quoted an ETA of 11th January at my local retailer but got notified that stock never came in and still hasn't even today so quite a bummer here in Australia. The cryofuel still looks awesome though so I'm ok with it.

The_Blue_Dragon 2 points 10 months ago

By far the best system i have ever seen on PCpartpicker!

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Glad you thought so! Although there have been many in the past which I have idolised. Alot of inspiration has been drawn from the many talented individuals on the PCPP community.

Thanks :)

Meithen 2 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

I always will be taking risks with uncommon colour schemes.

Beautiful color scheme. Clearly a lot of love has gone into this project. Congrats on an amazing build!

Just make sure to tell your family to be careful with the tubing :)

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks! Yep they will know the precautions, and they are lucky I am not fussy so if there are any damages ill take responsibility in fixing.

matt44271 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

Congrats on featured awesome build +1 I love the ek cryofuel I was thinking of getting some of my own for my build

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks! Yeah the EK cryofuel is my go to coolant for no frills high performance. Originally was going for the primochill vue, but hey stock is almost non existent in australia, so cryofuel it is.

Ice44 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

You should sell this to the Shanghai Dragons! (The OW team)

+1 great build

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

hi_im_snowman 2 points 10 months ago

Truly not my personal style but I have to give it to you, STUNNING execution! This is such a unique build, it's really inspiring - there's so much to look at and to wonder about. Also, the bends are spot on.

Kudos mate! +1

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thank you! :) Yeah its really a love or hate situation when using unorthodox parts.

Tooth 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

nice build, I like it alot!

impressive with your cable wires so perfect and the tubing is also perfect.

when is or was chinese new year?

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Thanks! If you want neat cables try cablemods modmesh series, very easy to work with.

Chinese new year is coming up on 16th February, this build is done early in preparation for friends and family to use both during the day at our evening celebration and the following weeks.

Tooth 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

Very cool.........to your friends and family they get the "Wow Factor" :)

Apexier 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

200TH upvote! really nice concept great job on the build, I am really digging the theme. wow I do hope it turns out to be a show-stopper during your friends and family gathering; interesting premise/use-case for the PC, that is very generous of you.

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Only time will tell but the younger kids should be all over it in a matter of seconds haha.

wchamby 2 points 10 months ago

This is the most visually stunning build I have seen to date!!!

Darzz 1 point 10 months ago

Everything nice and cool and the background is cool until you notice, the plant is only $20.79!!!

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

LOL! I didn't even notice the price tag was visible on the bamboo plant!!!!! haha, you have a very sharp keen eye.

VapelordTakeTheL 1 Build 1 point 10 months ago

im so turned on right now

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Haha :)

vegaspimp22 3 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

this is awesome. love that huge monoblock. Only thing i would change is the color of the red. its like a orange red. I prefer deep red, or candy red. That red is like should i be orange, or should i be red. Otherwise, excellent work. Beautiful.

Nexus1TEN 0 points 10 months ago

-1 for dust lol, Am I the only OCD mutha fuka to notice it. It bugs me bro, I love this build!!! Cheers!!!!

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 1 point 10 months ago

Haha that's a very legitimate reason to be concerned about in an open air case. From my experience, dust that settles on the parts can just be blown off :D. But hey I agree with you and open air chassis is not for everyone :)

Thanks nonetheless, appreciate your comment :)

[comment deleted by staff]
Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 5 points 10 months ago

Totally agree, open air cases are really a love or hate situation, and I wouldn't really recommend them to others.

I personally enjoy building in them, but hate managing hazards (dust, moths, animals) afterwards haha.

Thankfully, none of these open air builds are used for long term purposes.

Thanks again :)

supermattdab0ss 1 Build 2 points 10 months ago

For me it’s love! Open cases are amazing!

Bee66 submitter 12 Builds 3 points 10 months ago

Indeed! Every angle of your hardware is clearly visible and there to be seen in open cases. Thanks again :)

awsommv 2 points 10 months ago

Did you actually pay $1237 for the case?

[comment deleted by staff]
AC1DFOX 5 Builds 2 points 10 months ago

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, and 2 open air machines. As long as you arent storing your PC on the floor, never a problem. In fact, I actually have cleaned my Wall mounted Core P3 FAR less than any enclosed case I have had. The only real area of dirt it between the fans and the Rad on my AIO. Brush that out every 5 months and Voila. LOVE open air cases.

antonjetpack 1 point 10 months ago

why did you say, "Like, i have..." are you donald trump or smth?

Thanks! Indeed they do make very unique cases.
