Build

very cheap budget pc

by GoldTerror

Description

For some light gaming until I upgrade. I need to upgrade the motherboard first so I can overclock, and I need to upgrade my graphics card because the gtx 780ti overheats a lot. Playing overwatch it gets to upwards of 83 degrees Celsius. I will add more things like a picture of the build and a more in depth description when I have more time, as I'm always very busy.

Part Reviews

CPU

Very nice for a low budge build. Got it for the low price of $94. Wish I had gotten either a better motherboard to utilize the overclock abilities or saved up for the 1300x. not good for streaming games, as obs overloads the cpu.

Motherboard

Didn't really like this mobo, should've saved for a better one, as this one can't overclock, is really flimsy, and like you would expect from most super cheap motherboards, the i/o shield drew blood. Good enough for the price.

Memory

Looks nice, had no issues with it.

Storage

gets the job done, and as a bonus is really thin.

Case

At first I really liked this case, but after seeing so many other cases the side panel window looks ugly in my opinion. As with most extreme budget cases the cable management is no great, but unlike most people I've seen use this case I've gotten decent cable management. Great airflow.

Power Supply

Gets the job done, didn't burn down the house

Other

This mouse has great ergonomics, but I am not a fan of the clicks, and it has weird glitches like refusing to work for minutes at a time. This mouse WILL get messy even if your hands are almost always clean like mine.

Other

I love this keyboard. only complaints are the lack of control key on the right side and the rainbow rgb stutters a little for me. Great for the price, and as a plus has brown switches!

Why not a Ryzen APU?

GoldTerror submitter 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

I got the gpu for free, I didn't need a ryzen apu when I had a gpu on hand. If I hadn't gotten the 780ti I would have most likley went for an apu

Do you plan to use spare parts from this build?

GoldTerror submitter 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

I've kept all the parts except the case and motherboard for the new build, although I plan to upgrade everything soon
