Description
Hello, welcome to my build. Before I had this I was gaming off a very bad Pentium-based Acer laptop. Well, unsurprisingly it could not handle games that I wanted to play (CS:GO, BF3, TF2) particularly well. So, I had a bit of a browse on Reddit, and asked a few know-it-all users about which parts I should choose for my build. Sorry if you see a lot of 6300-R9 270X builds on here, they are very good.
CPU- The AMD FX-6300 is both cheap and a great processor. It has slightly better performance than an i3, according to the articles I read, and is similar to an i5. I mainly picked this because of the price.
MOTHERBOARD- The Asus M5A78L-M is good for what I wanted. However, next time if I were to do this again, I would have to go for a cheaper motherboard, such as a Gigabyte one. But, that said, I probably wouldn't get USB 3 ports on a cheaper motherboard, which I use a lot.
MEMORY- Does the job. Probably should have gone for a cheaper one, now that I think of it.
STORAGE- I use the 1TB to store games and music, and is half-full as of now. Great price for the amount of storage space.
SSD- This SSD is very good, as I put Windows 8 on it and it loads in about 5-8 seconds. This may not be impressive to some of you, but my old laptop took 10 minutes to boot up. Good improvement. However, this, I have been told is a very slow SSD, but I'm not complaining.
VIDEO CARD- This graphics card is amazing in games, I did a couple of FPS checks just for this:
CS:GO- 200 FPS + TF2- 220+ FPS BF3- 80 FPS SNIPER ELITE 2- 90 FPS This graphics card is also very quiet when under load (at least when wearing headphones).
CASE- This is a very nice looking case in my opinion. However, I have found nicer looking ones for a lot cheaper. Should have done some more research!
POWER SUPPLY- Nice power supply, comes with plenty of power cables and cable ties. Would recommend.
So, here is my build, I hope you have learned from it (I certainly have).
