Description

This was my first ever PC build as I've been a Mac guy for the past 10 years or so (even worked at Apple for 5 years). I was a total noob in building and learned so much in this build. As you can see from the title this was mainly for photo editing and music producing. Also the Windows side of things is for some gaming.

I actually originally started with the Bitfenix Prodigy M case which was a bad choice for a first build. The cable management was total *** and there was literally no airflow in the case. If you're wondering why I have the single fan version of the 1060 it's because it fit better in the Prodigy M. Also I have an mATX board for the same reason. Recently I decided I wanted better airflow and cable management so I switched to the Corsair 400c.

Also I grabbed a bunch of white LED fans to go with the overall white look of some of my gear. Looks like everything turned out great and my 100% sRGB monitors are perfect for photo editing. The desk is a little dirty because I hate the desk but that will get updated later in the future.

EDIT: I recently updated the GPU from a 1060 single fan to the 1080 hybrid. I also overclocked my CPU to 4.5GHz running pretty stable so far.

You have more SSD space than most people do on their hard drive

I have less space total than you do on your small SSD : - (

that is a beautiful setup for music creation. You might be able to dual boot into MAC off a second drive, if you want.

I do wonder, what was the price of your videocard? the price your your power supply? motherboard? Thanks!

That's actually exactly what I'm doing. This setup currently has 2 SSDs and 2 HHDs. The SSDs are a Mac boot and Windows 10 boot. Then the HHDs are additional space for the Mac side since that's where I do the majority of my photo editing. I also have a bunch of external drives for backup and video games.

Here are the prices I paid for the items you're asking about.

Motherboard | Gigabyte Z170M | $151 GPU | EVGA GTX 1060 6GB Single Fan | $239 PSU | Corsair RM750X | $99

On the PC side FL studio. Which I haven't worked in for over 10 years. So mainly Ableton 8, Reason 6 (or whatever the newest one is), and Logic
