Description

I am 15, my birthday was just a little while ago, and it helped me finish the build; this is the first build I've done and it took about a year to slowly collect the parts to make it what it is today. My dad is blind and has been working with technology and computers most of his life. I've always been a gamer, but always did so on consoles. He really helped me make my PC and enjoy the process of picking out the parts and making the computer. He picked out the CPU, MOBO, RAM, and HDD before I knew what how everything worked.

CPU I don't think my dad made that bad of a choice here. For a while I was running on integrated graphics, and this APU really made that more enjoyable. It's also not a bad processor altogether.

Motherboard I'd have rather gone with an Intel MOBO, but again an Intel CPU wouldn't have had as nice integrated graphics when that was needed.

Memory 8GB is perfect for me, doesn't break the bank and runs amazing. The only problem I have with it is the color. I know it doesn't affect the computer speed at all. it just doesn't fit the rest of my build cause it's blue.

Storage 3TB Plenty for all my games, and the price wasn't bad. Looking into getting an SSD, but I'm happy with just a HDD.

Video Card It was the best card for my budget, and I bought it before the RX 460 was a thing or I would have gotten that card.

Case I absolutely love this case; I think it looks amazing with my red led fans. It was a huge step up from my old case which I got from my 7th grade technology teacher with a 300w power supply for free. This is also the most recent part of my computer.

Power Supply The wattage might be a little much for my build but, I shouldn't have to buy a new one for a while. The only problem is another personal gripe, but the cables aren't the best looking and stick out quite a bit.

I made all the prices what I paid for them at the time. The monitor is a SyncMaster 2033. My next upgrade will probably be a new monitor(I got my current one for free from a friend). If you have any questions about the build feel free to ask in the comments, and I'll try to reply. If anyone wants to help me think of a name for it that'd be appreciated. :D

If your dad is blind and guided you through this whole process he must be one hell of a techie.

First thing i would have to say is the 3TB hard drive is overkill for what you need but it works. i would really consider buying a ssd in the near future because it will help with speed of operating like booting up, loading games, internet, and even applications. i bought my first p.c. out of old computers and now i bought a nice one from just looking on used websites. Dont be afraid to buy a used ssd. Nice build all together, i would of went with intel i5 6600k with overclocking but it is your choice. Keep it up!

I will definitely look into buying an SSD. A while after I got my processor I wanted to get the i5 4690k but it was to late. I do want to upgrade my cpu, but I need some other stuff first like an SSD like you said or a new monitor.

He's been building pcs for years, and showed me how by putting in the part then taking it back out and letting me put it in again. I know it sounds weird, but it really taught me how. The only part that he really can't do are the front panel connectors that go to the motherboard, but he still talked me through it.
