AMD FX-9590’s 220W TDP is higher than the 165W TDP on the Core i9 9980XE

Oh. Well I was not interested in these processors, since I want to build a PC with a 65 watt TDP processor... Anyways thanks for the information.

There isn't much 4k monitor with more than 60hz, and there isn't much Pc that will get you 60+ fps in 4k anyway

And even if your not running 4K it will still look better then a 1080p screen.

No lie i was tricked by the old 4k label on the box! Got from Sam's Club for awsome price tho.

Aww, no R9 295x2. That thing was a beast. Titan Z performance for 1/3 the price. 500W TDP, and reached that easily. Are you sure your PSU won't fail? Have a friend with a FX-8350 and a D15, when oced to 5.3, he triggered OCP on his 650W psu, and he only had a 960.

Nice build! Is AMD FX better the Ryzen 5? Cause I might do that on my build. Its really fast too. Ryzen 5 is only in the 4.2 GHz and only a 6 core.

Dont get a fx cpu please. They get you with the numbers but compared to any other cpu, they're not very great. Not just that but you would need ddr3 ram and sata 3gb/s.

The FX series was a rather large flop, even back when it released.

There's more to CPU's than cores and clockspeeds. The main thing would be the IPC (instructions per clock) the FX series has a god awful IPC compared to pretty much any rather modern CPU. The the whole thing with cores. Physically, yes, they have the amount of cores as listed. However, they use a two core per module setup, so each group of two cores are using the same resources. So FX 8 and 9 series are basically quad cores.

Then they also run very warm. In other words, you'd be far better off getting a Ryzen CPU
