Description

Hi, This is an extremely overkill gaming pc that took me 9 months to save up for. Why I chose the parts: CPU: It was a no brainer, an i7 isn't needed for gaming and the new devils canyon is amazingly cool and efficient when compared to the old haswel processors Cooler: it was hard to choose but a corsair h100i in push pull configuration so I can overclock it readily Video Card: Overkill but it's good as I can play minecraft with shaders at a solid 100 fps and unigine valley at 60fps Storage: Pretty bog standard SSD and hard drive configuration Case: Love the Phanteks enthoo line and extra LEDs can't hurt. The luxe is perfect as you can do push pull radiator and the front intake has a cool look to it that the pro lacks PSU: Standard 750 watts and is fully modular to reduce clutter Monitor: 144hz and a 1ms response time yes please! Keyboard: Bought it on special and love it Mobo: Love the features and the extra led pizzaz

Tell me what you think!

Edit: My CPU is so bad! 4.3 gigahertz 1.3 volts! I'm so disappointed :(

If you got a Nividia GPU you would have got shadowplay for free... Which in my opinion is the best one there is.... Only problem is that it doesn't separate the microphone from game sounds.

Doesn't the H100i come with thermal paste applied to it?

  • 2 points

I think he was trying to say that when he installed it, he messed up the thermal paste that was already applied.

  • 2 points

It did but I messed it up big time so I decided some Arctic Silver 5 Should do the trick

Very nice, but there is no way in hell I would turn this on without making sure my CPU was properly cooled, aka, thermal paste applied correctly etc. etc. etc., I know these new CPU's and motherboards are pretty good, but for this kind of money I would take no chances,,,+1 on the build, but damn son, slap the goo to the CPU, and I would use the rice method!!!

Don't worry, it's fine as long as I don't do a Prime 95 small fft test then it goes to 89 degrees Celsius

I bet it does, lol, don't get to carried away before you take care of it, once again, great build...

Dat case!

How you liking the case, im debating whether its worth getting the luxe instead of the pro.

  • 2 points

Depends, Do you like overkill LEDs? Are you planning on doing a top radiator in push pull configurations? Do you like the front grill? Do you want to pay the premium for those features? If yes is the answer to all these questions then you should buy it, if not then buy the pro

Yeah! I was going to get the Primo but when I saw how big it was on Linus' review and how heavy it was (18kg!!!)

Still that's a nice case just as it is though nice rig!

That case looks really nice in white

Thanks! I've always loved white I was going to do an all white theme but finding a white mechanical keyboard is really hard

awesome build mate the case looks awesome

Nice, planning a similar build with a blue theme however. +1

Edit: why the HUE? Phanteks lighting strips can integrate with the case LED controller.

  • 1 point

I know but I have 3 reasons 1) the HUE is full spectrum whilst the led strips are defined colours 2) the hue can do some awesome light shows 3) the led strips weren't on pccasegear when I ordered my parts

Nice Build!

I'm waiting on the same case and CPU cooler and have a question.

Is the Tubing on the H100i long enough to mount the radiator on the bottom of the case as an intake?

  • 2 points

No, it's not long enough plus the graphics card would probably get in the way

  • 1 point

Great build!

If I may ask, have you found any holes/gaps in the Enthoo Luxe that can serve as places for dust to enter the case?

I'll hopefully get the Luxe soon and will have an air cooled system with negative pressure so I want to keep as much dust out as I can. For that, I will make some ghetto air/dust filters in any places dust can use to infiltrate my baby.

  • 1 point

There are filters on the front panel, one for the PSU and front bottom intake, none for the top and back

  • 1 point

That top mesh does not have a filter? Really? Even the Enthoo Pro has it.

  • 1 point

There is a mesh but it's too big to stop dust so it's best to have the top as an exhaust

  • 1 point

Oh... so the mesh is not filtered. Guess I'll just have to put some ghetto filter up there, even if it's exhaust!

Thanks a lot.

how's the CPU and GPU as a pair? Plan on the same gpu, cpu, and the H55.

  • 1 point

Its pretty good but right now go for the 970 (Im kicking myself that I didn't get it) Its better value and lower power consumption

  • 1 point

For where I live, the 290 is $200 cheaper.

Nice build! I'm looking at getting that monitor. What do you think about it?

  • 1 point

Its pretty good. I recommend it

Alright, I was looking at it because a lot of people recommended it, but I'm already over my budget. I 'll have to save up for it lol
