I was never into PC gaming, but decided that it was about time. I thought the best way to learn was to get hands on, so I chose to build a system. The main games I play would be FPS like battlefield and driving sims, like Project Cars. I'm really pleased with the way it all turned out. Let me know what you guys think.
Works flawlessly for gaming and general use. From comparisons I've seen, there is no real advantage in going with a better CPU for gaming purposes.
No issues with this unit. Keeps the CPU below 60C at full load with 30C ambient temps. What more can I say.
This board is very beautiful in person. Pictures cant do it justice. The PCI-E slots are very rigid and the board feels very quality all round. My only complaint can be awkward placement of the fan headers. The AF fan harnesses are barely long enough to reach the headers to the bottom of the board. But then again, this could be an issue with the fan harnesses being too short.
This was the best price option. I like the plain black design. Blends in well and does its job.
I was initially thinking of the Samsung 850 Evo. However, I saw this unit and it had similar specs at a cheaper price. The color scheme of this unit matched my build better than the Samsung so i thought i would give it a try. No issues so far.
As my system was geared for 1080p gaming I opted for the 970. I've been able to get 60+FPS in all major titles at max settings, except for Witcher 3 so far. The 970 will also allow me to dabble with VR if i choose. I suspect I will upgrade to a 1070 setup later on tho.
Building inside this case is great. No issues here. Lots of rubber grommets and smartly positioned ties and spaces to route wiring neatly. The window is easily scratched however. You need to be very careful with it. The 4 thumb screws that attach it to the case isnt the smartest solution. I wish it were hinged.
Works as advertised. No issues here. The standard cables that come with this unit are braided and all black which is nice. The silent mode is great.
Tons of air flow, Quiet operation, can pull through a 30mm rad no issues, great looks. Nothing bad to say here. love these. I got 5!
Zero back light bleed. No complaints, perfect 1080p 60hz ultra wide. Extremely bright display though. I typically play in a dark room and I have the brightness setting set at 0.
I initially bought the Karura Red dragon keyboard. After a week I opted to upgrade to a proper mechanical keyboard. Im running the cherry MX red switches with the red 2mm O-rings on the small keys and the blue 4mm o-rings on the larger keys, such as the enter key. With this setup the keys are super responsive and moderately quiet. The brushed metal back plate and the USB pass thru for the 2016 model is great. No complaints here, this is a quality product. Im not a fan of RGB, so the basic red led back-lit is perfect for me.
Best wireless gaming mouse, ever.
Not anything great, but a hell of alot better than the monitor speakers. For the price, you cant go wrong.
